My husband ( deceased ) was from Tangier, it took me forever to understand the special dialect. It's a wonderful place, children play , people are honest, like a whole new world. Our children loved it .
@mycatstupid Ahh, you are mistaken. It's like a whole OLD world. It is really nice to see places like this still hang on to honest and respectable values, and for folks to get a chance to take a step back in time in some respects.
I have lived in Virginia Beach my whole life and only found out this island even exists about a year ago. I want to visit so badly but working 6 days a week I can't find the time. So thanks for this virtual tour! :)
Lovely, I know a family that lives in Reedville, when the tides are down, you can see the island. At night you can see the lights from the island. So romantic.
Yes, it is a special place, and I am saddened to leave each time I visit. (I usually spend three nights on the island) If only I could assure that I could make a living there, I would be more than willing to become one of the locals. It seems like a difficult place to survive unless you are retired and financially set.
I've been there few years ago for my birthday with my mother. I had a great time there.
