John Kay was one of the best frontman of the 60's and his autobiography "Magic Carpet Ride" has some fantastic stories of the many musicians and hollywood celebrities he knew and interacted with from time to time. (Hendrix/Joplin/Morrison) The major difference between Kay and many of his contemporaries ... he survived.
As for John grabbin the mic stand. So what? He's been doing it for the past 40+ yrs. Mick Jagger still struts his stuff across the stage, like he did 46 yrs ago.
John Kay is also German, and we did not need the USA to liberate al those people, it is just that English sounds cooler in Rock, at least in those days, but at least we are multilingual!
We are going 40 years back in time, not surprised at your error, on the other hand..must be our age too...my memory is black, white and often grey..or gray if you are in the USA...
Oh yes he was as cool as he thought he was, at least to a 16 year old girl, and even now to a 57 year old woman!!! Love him pure, raw German pride & sex appeal!!!! Hmm Hmmm Nothing like it!!!
This band was playing stadiums before they even had shopping malls. So please show some respect for the guys who paved the way for all the genre's of rock..
Rush is the best thing that came out of Canada ? Are you sure ?
It would be awesome for Rush if they would be at 50% from what The Tea Party made in terms of compositions... Party are better than Led Zeppelin. Go and listen Splendor Solis or Edges of Twilight albums.
@valentin80 i am sure that the best thing to come out of canada was nothing except neil young period. not beer, not hockey, not government, not food,or certianly not hospitality, nothing except neil young.
@Muzzie0323 im glad some else also knows that this was the band that started what is now known as heavy metal. most people dont know that so they judge.

Who cares about where they came from? They made great music back when I was in HS. John, and the current line up still makes great music now.

ok organ, but he looks like he's putting a tinny kurzweil thru a leslie, would sound much better with the original hammond b3 / leslie combination !
