Four weeks before my sister died, she and I were driving around in my car, and I had this playing on the CD player. She turned to me and said “Are you thinking of playing this at my funeral?”. I met Lucinda after she played mountain stage in Charleston, WV with a good friend of hers from Sarasota, Fl. We were back stage and later we all went to the Marriott and talked for a couple hours-she is humble, kind and and her band was kickin-an awesome time. Thanks Lucinda.

A fucking national treasure is what Lucinda is. I'm confident that people will realize her greatness one day down the road. I hope she sticks around to relish it. She'll be celebrated like all our legends are today. She's old enough to be one but her recording career was sporadic until the past 12 years that she got a late start on making an impression with most. Not even an average album in her canon, but several great ones. Car Wheels is in my top 100 LPs ever. West will prove to be a top 250!
