Nahh, man. Deathcore is a mix of elements in death metal and metalcore and/or hardcore. Like death metal vocals with a bit more variety. Death metal blast beats and polyrhythms. Death metal riffs. Metalcore chugs/breakdowns. Metalcore straight beats and other stuff. Metalcore pinch riffs.

It's very muddled together, hard to explain lol.

But yes sir, deathcore is a subgenre of its own.
