  • Gymnastics FTW!!!!! Thumbs Up If You LOVE Gymnastics!!!! <3

  • Are you saying that dance ON THE POINT OF YOUR FEET is something easy to do? And look gracefully at the same time? Fuck you! ¬-¬#

  • I think that i will go with Gymnastics just cuz i have done both. I did gymnastics for 9 years and ballet for about 3 years. And i think that being a gymnast requires more skill. Because you have to have perfect balance. Witch you also have to have good balance in ballet but.. I think that so far, gymnastics has been harder for me.

  • If you're doing it properly, ballet takes more strength than gymnastics ever will...

  • How does gay ballet even compare to gymnastics?!

  • @thefunchick11 Man dancers can do manlier things than you! If you don't know about this, please don't say meaningless things!

  • I like both but when i was young i wanted to do ballet and took like a few lessons, but now i'm into gymnastics so i say both :)

  • no affiance but but we don't

  • gymnasts need to know ballet stuff ballerinas don't need to know gymnastics please like this all you dancers to make @gleekable14 realize ballerinas don't have to know gymnastics

  • GYMNASTICS

  • balletr and gym are the same thing and its not that different

  • Each is hard in it's own way, and if you think about it, this is all opinion, and gymnastics and ballet are quite similar! Personally I think ballet is, because you can do gymnastics in dance, wear pointe shoes, and be super flexible, strong, and beautiful. Gymnastics is more about tricks, Ballet is about artistry, strength, and just expressing everything, but I won't lie, gymnastics is still very challenging!

  • GYMNASTICS!!! you get to adventure further and have LOADS of fun

  • all dance is based off ballet so its hard btw i dance for 10 years and ballets hardd

  • BN EN REALIDAD PARA MI ES MUCHO MAS DIFICIL SER BAILARINA DE BALLET SE NECSECITA FUERA ELASTICIDAD RESISTENCIA RITMO DEDICACION ADEEMAS TODAS LS BAILARINAS PODEMOS SE GIMNASTAS PERO NO TODAS LAS GIMNASTA PUEDEN SER BAILARINAS

  • well i do both so i cnt choose :)

  • Gymnastics all the way!

  • Gym is a sport, ballet is an art. They are completely different, and are both amazing talents :) It shouldnt be a contest of difficulty; its whatever YOU like to do and whatever YOUR PASSIONATE about :) I do gym but always have and always will respect and appreciate anyone who does ballet; both are difficult in seperate ways :)

  • as a ballerina and former gymnast, ballet is much harder but so much more fun!

  • technically it's just what people prefer not which one is better cause they are both equal

  • BALLET

  • dont mix Rhythmic gymnastics with Artistic gymnastics THEY ARE DIFFERENT I think they are all difficult

  • Ballet!

  • gymnastics

  • ballet conects more with your passion

  • I do both and i chose gymnastics because ballet is just too stuctured because if you mess up you get probably in trouble or have to start all from the beggining of the routine and with gymnastics you only continue you either got the move and if you dont you get said its ok

  • i prefer ballet...maybe that's because i dance ballet :D but both of them are difficult! but remember that ballet is art and gymnastics is sport!

  • Ballet!

  • there's no comparison between them. in ballet, you have to be flexible, strong, graceful, be able to to get into the music and get all the steps perfect, know how to take pain, and still look beautiful and effortless. in gymnastics, you have to be flexible, strong, know how to take pain (emotional and physical), and you have to be perfectly instep because one mess up could kill you. they're both very hard, and I dance ballet, but if I had to pick, I would say that gymnastics is harder.

  • yourself in gymnastics ( arch ur back and push ur chest anf butt out) but in ballet u tuck ur pelvus under and dont arch ur back

  • I think gymnastics because there are so many different elements in gymnastics like bars, beam, vault, and floor. You must know how to flip on the ground, from a run, on a 10 centimeter wide beam, on uneven bars, and off of a vault. You also need strength, agility, and balance. Im 14 and have been doing gymnastics since i was 2 and i absolutely luv it, but i have experienced ballet and it is also ver challenging, but you do not need ballet experience for gymnastics because the way you hold yours

  • Definetely ballet, i do both right now and ballet all the way

  • BOTH BOTH BOTH!!!!!!! WELL I DO BOTH SOOOO I CAN'T REALLY SAY!!!! LOL ROFL

  • BALLET!!!!!!!

  • Ballet

  • Both!

  • 2:04 .... her legs scare me.. :/

  • escracharon a una

  • i don't really think you can compare the two their both hard but in different ways

  • okay for gymnasts you need ballet practice for ballet u don't have to be a gymnast! and i love ballet!!!!!!!!!!

  • gymnastics

  • Ballet ♥

  • Gymnastics.

  • BALLET

  • Personally, I feel gymnasts need ballet for some of the things they do, and ballerina's need gymnastics for some their work

  • its a hard choice, both take a hell of a lot of strength, time and dedication

  • BALLET!!!(but i like rythmic gymnastics too)

  • @Shesgotcrazystyle I don't agree.. I'm not à "prissy little girl" and if you Can dance, you certainly don't look retarded... You're probably just jealous, because you can't dance youself

  • Cant compare the two, both completely different, yet both beautiful things.

  • Haha I mean come on I do point and gymnastics and there is no arguing gymnastics:bars, vault, tumble, beam, and dance

    Ballerinas: dance

  • a mi me gusta mas el ballet pero la gimnasia es mas dificil

  • Gymnastics.. Ballet is just a bunch of prissy little girls who jump around and look like retards..

  • @Shesgotcrazystyle Oooooooooo....Someone must have had a bad ballet experience huh? :) lol WHAT YOU JUST SAID MADE YOU SOUND LIKE A PRISSY LITTLE GIRL just so you know :) Have a nice day ma'am.

  • @Shesgotcrazystyle I could say the same for gymnastics

  • @Shesgotcrazystyle I don't think you've ever tried it. Try it once and you'll see

  • @Shesgotcrazystyle ballet is more than jumping around, you obviously have no ballet experience. stop ranting about how ballet is retarded bcuz its not

  • Gymnastics... i did both gymnastics and ballet and i still say gymnastics is harder... there is soo much more to gymnastics as in skills and apparatuses etc and there are different types of gymnastics... ballet is beautiful and no dought about it hard but i definitely hav to go with gymnastics!

  • can anyone else see what i can in the first pic?.....

  • @LadyofBallet what?

  • I can see which one you like better. but i do gymnastics so thats my personal choice for both questions, even though you like ballet better

  • I looove gymnastics and would like to do them, but I can only do ballet, so I'll have to go with that one, but both are pretty and amazing!

  • I love both ballet and gymnastics for me to practice

  • Ballet . Ive done gymnastics to but I'm just more into ballet and its way harder !! Well In my opinion.

  • @TwilightFan1615 me too, i took gymnastics when i was seven and quit because it justy wasnt my thing, i am doing ballet in my fourth year of classical training, i think people who dont know much about ballet think it is for prissy little girls, i agree with you though :)

  • Gymnastics! so much more entertaining and thrilling

  • @roxylovingly I Agree with you becos ur words are right And i LOVE Gymnastics :) :D

  • i think that Gymnastics is way better then Ballet

  • i think they are even cuz both can be graceful/ flexible. plus they both take hard work and dedication

  • I like the 1:40 and 2:05 :DDD

  • Gymnastics is way better than ballet

  • GYMNASTICS IS WAY BETTER BALLET IS FOR WOUSSEESSS

  • Is there anyone here who is a ballet dancer? I need some advice!!!!!!! I am a beginner of ballet, I'm a male ballet dancer by the way. I am looking for the best ways to improve my ballet techniques as quick as possible, I am in love with ballet, but my floor work is horrible!!! Thank you

  • @Hanly1996 try doing splits and improving your flexibility um different studios have different requirements how old are you

  • Really, you can't even compare these. I took Gymnastics for 3 years, tumbling for about 2-3 years til now, and I'm good in tumbling, but not like double back flips, and i took ballet for a few months. But honestly, I dance and do flips. So neither. I know Ballet is hard and pressuring, but Gymnastics is just as hard as well. Like the vault , beam , bars , and floor . You have to be talented to do both . But my opinion is different because I'm not much for graceful dances , hip hop is my thing .

  • ballet is an art and gymnastics is just gymnastic with practices!

so ballet has many things which make it different and it's to the top!!

you feel that you do and and also you need a really selfconfidence that gymnastics doesn't need it!! ;D <3BALLET<3

  • I dont think u should comparing these 2 cause I used to take ballet and I toke it for 10 years so yah and then with only 2 and a half years I am already in level5 so i got to say they are both very equal.

  • Ballet. It it weren't fer ballet, gymnastics would have never happened.. & If you look through, the gymnasts are only doing ruff versions on what the ballerinas are doing to gracefully.

--Notice the word BALLER in BALLERina ! ;D

  • ballet because 1) more graceful & 2) there is a smaller chance of hurting urself

  • I'm a ballet dancer in training, and I'm at an age were you go to summer intensives and take at least 30 hours per week, the point work the ruff teachers, BALLET IN INSANE for me, but I'm sure GYM is just as hard for those who do it, like my best friend, infact when I hang out with her, pretty much all we do is talk about how hard the two artforms ARE! so I'd say there both equal!

  • The two require an immense amount of skill, but are very different despite their similarities. You can't compare the two and I have done both

  • I think that there is no comparing between the 2.... I am a gymnast and a ballerina...... and also..... thumbs up if you LOLed at 2:06!!! haha

  • gymnastics is much harder because you have to flip and have a lot of strength, there is alot of ballet in gymnastics so gymnastics is combining, power, strength, ballet and flipping

  • GYM NASTICS!!

  • BALLET!!!!!!!

  • I have done both and they are both hard and require balance agility endurance and self trust so it's impossible to choose

  • You can't compare because in each of the activities you have to have different feats of strength. In ballet you have to have extreme grace and form and constantly you have to hold yourself in the proper position. In gymnastics you have to trust yourself to catch you and to balance on your hands. So you can not compare the two because they are both AMAZING in there own way!

  • I belive that ballet is the grater of the two. Ballet is so gracefull and pure and can relice any emotions threw the dance. i have been dancing ballet all my life and i had to go high evel gymnastics just for one form of training (also including jazz, contempoty, hip hop and manny sports) i sory that i cant agree with any1 who thinks th better is gymnastics.

  • B A L L E T <3

  • you cant compare the two. they are both so different. no one is better than the other. weather u do ballet or gymnastics, either one takes dedication, why do we even need to compare them? both r cool.

  • I'm with iRide (I ride too by the way!:) I have done gymnastics and still take daily ballet classes, and I think that both ballet and gymnastics are hard and require lots of technique, strength and determination but if I had to pick one, I would say ballet has the extra amount of "art creativity, grace, poise" that has to be incorporated into the movement and I think that makes it just a bit more difficult. All of you amazing gymnasts out there would disagree, but I can't get enough of ballet!:)<3

  • does anyone know what ballet 1:05 is from?

  • I dont really think one is harder than the other just like with anything else both require a high level of dedication and extreme pain to go along with it. Whether it be blisters, bloody hands and/or feet, the extreme stretching, and the pain that follows many practices. As many people have said they are really uncomparable and both have their own entities. I highly respect any dancer or gymnast that has even put in the time and work to even make it to the next level. And yes I have done both.

  • gymnastics is more hard!!!!!!!

  • PLEASE! all this sports are harder!! but rythmic gymnastics and ballet are more harder!

  • depends on the type/show of ballet, and the moves and leaps a gymnast shows

  • i think that rhythmic gymnastics is harder than ballet cuz its the same movements as ballet but then youve got to focus on throwing and catching the equip etc...

  • Ballet is much harder than gymnastics, and I know it because I do both

  • ballet

  • I prefer Rhythmic gymnastics then ballet then artistic gymnastics, i do ballet and rhythmic and find rhythmic more challenging and exciting but ballet is also a beautiful art similar to rhythmic but diffrent

  • Gymnastics.

  • I like ballet more, because it's to inspire people and show them something. Gymnastics is realy for the 'first place' and that's what I dislike about it. In Ballet you can express yourself and the audience, but with Gymnastics you just do it because you want to impress the judges. I think that's too why I like ballet more. '

  • @XxnlgirlxX i disagree with this most people do gymnastics because they love it getting a placing is just a bonus, i did some rhythmic gymnastics at the talent quest at school and that inspired a lot of people and even my ballet teacher says she prefers gymnastics because of the flexibility and posture and also grace and fluidity ( when i refere to gymnastics im meaning rhythmic) your veiw is fine i dont care wether you like ballet more or not im just saying the stuff that backs it up is wrong

  • I am doing ballet and I did gymnastics, but I was so bad that I stopped because I could not come any further with it.. So BALLET!

  • ballet.

  • BALLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2:05 ...EWWWWWWWWW

  • ballet exige mais tudooo

mta postura, mta força, mta disciplica, mto tudooo

  • Ballet, ballet, ballet,ballet, ballet, ballet e 1000 vezes ballet *-*

  • neither one is better than the other, they both take extreme amounts of dedication and hard work, but since I'm a ballet dancer myself, and the only time I've taken gymnastics is when I was about 6, I would have to say that I would chose ballet over gymnastics, because it's more graceful and it's more of an art form than gymnastics. it's my passion. any gymnast would say differently, though. :)

  • Ballet definitely seems more painful, due to the amount of time on point shoes. I admire them for that. Gymnastics is a lot scarier and you have to put in more hours, so it really evens out. I am a gymnast myself and I would have to say that I prefer gymnastics, because I know what it takes to be one. But they are really incomparable. By the way, whoever said you don't need grace to be a gymnast has a lot to learn. Ciao

  • Finding the many comments/opinions on this video interesting. As many people say - impossible to compare, because ballet is an expressive art, and gymnastics a sport - although one of the most physically extraordinary and perfect that humans can practice. Ballet is not 'harder' physically, but 'harder' in a different way - because the dancer strives to embody something, whether a character, feeling or the abstract interpretation of a piece of music. "Dancers are the athletes of God"- Einstein

  • i would prefer gymnastics, but you really cant compare them, you cant say one is harder because the other one is just as hard you cant say ballet requires more flexibility when gymnastics needs flexibilty i really think gymnastics because of tumbling routines, strength, flexibilty, balance, agility, power, but ballet is an amzing art so both (:

  • ballet for sure. you have to stay thin but muscular and strong. its harder if you want to do it professionally. you have to have complete control of your body. everything has to stay in place while you lift your leg up next to your head... well your getting the idea. you have to do all this in gymnastics but they dont have to put on pointe shoes for up to 6 hours a day. and in ballet you have to perform it. you have to be the character. gymnasts just flip through the air. ballet is harder

  • GYMNASTICS!!!!!!!

  • GYMNASTICS!!!!!

  • You can't compare them. Here you have people fighting whereas comparing ballet and gymnastics is like trying to compare a parrot and a squirrel.

  • Ballet

  • I think they're too different, but to choose, I'd say gymnastics is harder because, you have to be very, very strong and concentrated, or you could die or really hurt yourself by doing something wrong or not having the strenght to finish the move correctly :/ Now, Ballet, you actually have a chance of learning even if you start as late as the 20s, if u wanna dance for fun. I don't think one could learn Gym if start after 20s, right? Maybe but bet it's way dangerous and hard for an adult 2 learn

  • Ballet !

  • cooll mais domage qu'on ne vs voit pas entraint de faire sa les photo

  • Los 2 no se pueden comparar... ambos requieresn mucho esfuerzo fisico y mental

  • Ballet, and gymnastics are totally different things. Ballet, you need to have leg muscles and lower body muscles. Gymnastics, more arms and upper body. My friend does gymnastics and acts like its way better than ballet and acts like ballet is for wimps. Usually, she is joking but its not funny at all. I am a dancer and I am good at gymnastics too. But really, what gymnastics and ballet broil down to is that there both a beautiful strength. (:

  • @lydiolagardener

gymnastics u need lower body strength as well, when you're doing an aerial twist, what muscles push you high enough into the air to do it? LEGS

But both sports are TOTALLY different

  • @lydiolagardener are you frikin kidding me? Gymnasts need ALL muscle!

  • GYMNASTICS cause u do bars and beams and floor and u go through alot of pain!!

  • i think both are really hard you have to be flexible but in ballet when on pointe shoes the dancers are in pain but dont show it. "a ballerina hides her strength with the beuty of the dance".

  • GYMNASTICS is deffinatley harder i did ballet for many years but gymnastics pushes you in so many different ways than ballet... but then again they are very different and are very hard to compare

  • @k0l0urz do you know bars does does to a gymnasts hands? They get a big blood blisters(dime+ size) and then they tear open and all the skin around is torn off too. It hurts like crazy but bleeding feet hurts too ;)

  • Both are amazing in different ways, you can't compare the two. besides, both involve a lot of pain and dedication at a high level.

  • BALLET we r always sore gymnastics suck ! Ballet all the way don't forget on our toes oh they constantly bleed ouch hurts thinking about it

  • @k0l0urz u think gymnasts dont have bleeding feet??what about blisters from all the jumps and flips we do.And if you think its painful to have blisters on your feet, try them on your hands. From all the bar work, my hands have blisters on them the size of coconuts. It hurts even worse when they pop.and we have to flip through the air, trying to defy gravity while turning our bodies.im not saying ballet is an easy sport,cz im sure its not,but comparing bleeding toes is a weak argument to point out

  • BALLET!!!!!! Gymnasts who say they have been in ballet and gymnastics and choose gymnastics to be harder....... U haven't been in ballet long enough!!!!!!

  • Of course..... I'm gonna have to woth gymnastics. Considering I'm a gymnast and Its really the most fun and competitive thing that I

ve ever done in my life. Ballerinas are pretty awesome too though.

  • thats offensive that you compared dance to gym Ballet dancers dont have to full twist on a beam.

  • @Brookex26x Obviously you are don't know how TINY the end of a pointe shoes is! To almazdionysus - I agree with you partly BUT coordination required for classical ballet is way beyond the comprehension of gymnasts. In ballet feet can dance in 2/4 while the arms move simultaneously in 9/8 or 6/8 or 3/4......! Flamenco is another art form taking years to master like ballet & needs the same fantastic coordination and musicality but I guess gymnasts think that's easy too as it is not dangerous!

  • It seems to me that ballet is far more mental than gymnastics. In ballet the dancer must very consciously direct their attention to the quality of every movement, no matter how seemingly insignificant. Gymnastics, on the other hand seems, to be something requiring a more subconscious coordination which can only be achieved through repetition. This is largely because gymnastics routines move too quickly for such concentration. Ballet is also reliant on repetition, but not to the same extent.

  • Ballet is very intricate and focused on the placement of the body and not necessarily dependent on strength. Gymnastics is more of a show of brute muscular force, and has an entirely different goal to achieve.

Which is why it is not even worth comparing the two in difficulty.

  • i do both gymnastics is harder. ballet works different muscles… gymnastics is harder but it dost mean it the best what ever one you passionate about. i love piont

  • Well,i do dance and it is pretty hard. But so is gymnastics!Dance has to have perfect balance like gymnastics, always pointing, like gymnastics. The difference is ballet you have to have perfect posture, strong for en point.I think that they are both equally hard!Don't go saying this one is harder or this one is harder, because practically they are both EQUALLY hard!!!Enough said..

  • GYMNASTICS. they cant be compared but i just prefer it...

  • GYMNASTICS.

  • BALLET!!!!!!!!!! is the best!!!!!

  • And gymnastics uses ballet so...think about that

  • Comment removed

  • @shiiningbella21 Never mind, I misunderstood your comment probably. I am not qualified to comment what is harder anyway, just that they are both hard and very very different as is said already.

  • @shiiningbella21 No, gymnasts THINK they use ballet but don't have a CLUE about correct ballet technique & training. Type in 'arabesque penchee' and see a gym. coach claiming to do a ballet arabesque, which she doesn't do, of course but is happy to promote her 'ballet'. In my dancing days I could do somersaults, h'stand pirouettes & free cartwheels but but never have the arrogance to claim I could really do gymnastics.

  • well i have to say this ballerinas have to be as storng (or maybe storger) then gymnast but cant look it one bit..

cause if u think about it when do u see ballerinas legs huge like gymnast and trust me they have the same strengeth.

  • I dance ballet so of coarse ill say dance, but i dont think they can be compared. Definately ballet hurts u more if u have proper training like disaplen and en point. but they r both sports no matter what!!!

  • they r completly different. both are equally hard.

  • You cannot compare the two. They are nothing alike. While they both take extreme dedication, endurance, flexibility, and strength neither is like the other. Both are at the level of being a sport but ballet is an art which makes it it's own. Gymnastics is meant to show feats of strength not feats of grace that look incredibly easy. This is an awesome video but, personally, I don't think you can compare the two. :)

  • I think ballet is so much harder, but gymnists work very hard and are amazing

  • Um..that's is a hard one. I think they are both amazing. Can we agree on that. That they both have challanges that are hard to over come. And both are wonderful to watch and/or perform.

  • they shouldnt be compared cuz they r so different. every1 has their own opinions. i do ballet and pointe. i hated gymnastics so much because it was very bold, too repetetive, and loud.

  • i think all 3are equally hard at time and vary at others. it really depends on what level ur doing each at cus if u took an elite gymnast and compared her too an ok balerina not on pointe id have to say gymnastics. i think learning gymnastics is harder in the sence that we have to be ballerinas on 4 events not just the dance part but at the same time we probably wouldnt be able to do what we do on pointe so this argument could rage on and on but why dont we all just appriciate each of the 3sport

  • Ballet is an art & a sport how many times do we need to say this?

  • I repeat - ballet and gymnastics ARE not the same. One is an art form honed over centuries, the other is sport. Using apparatus & music does not mean that sport equals a ballet performance. Training for either is COMPLETELY different. Ballerinas MUST be BORN with a certain physique or they don't make it. NO ballerina would exist if she did ballet classes like a gymnast. A dangerous sport does not make it harder than ballet - anyone who says this is totally ignorant of PROPER ballet training.

  • YOUTUBE people is for videos

    otherwise it would be called

    YOUSHOTS.

  • i find these discussions completely and utterly pointless, stupid and generally very easy to annoy some one.

obviously because i do ballet, i'd say bellet, but i'd always wanted to be a gymnast if it wasn't for my inflexibility that had to be gradually gained and not forced, which is what ballet gave me. we are flexible and graceful and go through a lot of pain (especially on pointe). but gymnasts are the same! they go through pain and have to be graceful.

they are nearly the same thing.

  • wow, the girl girl at 2:06 is reaaally skinny

  • what if we combined both, and called it a "floor routine"? I know, it's crazy, but it just might work.

  • I've only did Ballet so I can't really say if Gym is Harder or not but Ballet is hard because your face ALWAYS have to be relax and with a nice smile and all stuff XD And when I see Gymnasts at the Olympics Sometimes their face is really ugly XD ! I know it's normal because of the stress and the concentration but in ballet it wouldn't pass :O XD !

  • Ballet is the best 8_8

  • I do both and i like gymnastics better. See ballet and lyrical are great but I love the feeling of gymnastics. I guess you could say I was born for it. Ballet is harder though in my opinion I am a level 7 gymnast and yeah its hard , but ballet ends up being harder. For Ballet you have to keep a calm , graceful pretty face at all times. Gymnastics , yeah but its not as important. So I think ballet is harder.

  • ballet is much harder at a higher level all you gymnasts out there say "i did ballet and gym gym is harder" well u were probably not in ballet long enough to know that ballet is way harder at a high level so can it.

  • ballet alll da way ;D

  • Gymnastics is extremely harder than ballet. I did ballet and now I'm doing gymnastics. There is a big difference. For gymnastics you need:

    -flexability

    -strength

    -courage

    -perserveirance

    -grace

    -and much more......

  • @peacesassyt Um, ALL that is also needed in ballet, plus advanced music skills (most pros. read music) acting skills, character, national dancing skills as well. Oh, and we dance en pointe, in soft shoes, high heels, bare footed and most of the time on raked (sloping) stages most of which are NOT sprung. And we have to adapt to different choreographers and their demands. RG is NO version of ballet, for crying out loud! NO gymnast can stand correctly for even basic, proper ballet!

  • @MrKLT1945 You know it.

  • ballet and gymnastics combined would be amazing, so both :P
