Hello and welcome to Erdinger Weissbraü (Erdinger Wheat Brew)! Besides the refreshing taste, the colour, the cloudy yeast, and everything else that is great about Erdinger Weissbier is a perfect froth-crown (or "head" as we would say in English). The eyes drink too, and we have tips on how you can correctly pour the beer.
Before pouring, rinse the classes with cold, clear water. Tilt the glass and fill 3/4 full. Then swirl the beer (circular motion) which is left in the bottle to loosen the yeast from the bottom, and then pour the rest into the glass.
Now, that's how easy it is! But you wouldn't believe how easy one can go wrong, without even noticing! In the coming scenes, we built in 8 errors! See if you can spot them!
Don't dry the glasses afterwards. Leave them to drip dry. The towel leaves little fibres (lint) in the glass, and that will cause the head to foam too much!
Error five! A badly cleaned wheat beer glass, for example, with lipstick traces, of fatty fingerprints, is not only unappetising, but will kill the head especially fast!

Secondly, don't use ordinary dishwashing liquid. That too is a real head killer!

It's also not very hygienic to stick the bottle neck into the beer.

And seventh and eighth... lemon belongs in tea, or maybe with schnitzel. Rice maybe in a salt shaker. Neither belong in Erdinger Weissbier.

And when you avoid these 8 errors, then you will serve your guest a nice and hygienic Erdinger Weissbier.

(NOTE: when they clink glasses they clink the heavy bottoms and never the tops! That's the correct way to do it with wheat beer glasses!)

Super, daß Du unser Erdinger magst.
Ich mag dafür Euer Grolsch.

Grolsch is bad beer... try Hertog Jan, or Wieckse Witte (weiss bier).

wich is the ideal temperature for a weissbier ? Its an ale or a lager ?
blopa623 2 years ago
It's a top-fermenting beer. So you would say it's an ale I think.
Crystal wheat's ideal temperature is between 7-8 °C. Yeast wheat and dark wheat taste best at 8 - 10 °C.
