@RnB123100 wrong again. if you look at the chassis on the HMMWV there are no frame to body or body to body welds. this is to make it more practical to change a component in adverse conditions. Also a major difference can be noticed when looking at the brakes on a Humvee and hummer. The Humvee has disk brakes connected directly to the differentials instead of hub to give it more "true" ground clearance.

GM has nothing to do with H1.

In 1998 GM bought rights to the name 'Hummer' so they can bank on Hummer look.

In 2003 when H2 came out (manufactured by AM General for GM) - original Hummer received 'H1' logo not to be confused with 'Hummer wanted to be'.. There is no such thing as GM part numbers for H1 and no H1 has GM manufacture sticker.

ehh the h2 brought some practicality in, keep in mind i said SOME. it can still go offroad, not like the h1s 78 degree approach angle, but its still good. theyre both uncomfortable inside as is the h3 and when it comes down to it, id rather buy a grand cherokee and get 18.2 mpg as opposed to the 12.2 the h2 gets and the 9.2 the h1 gets

LMFAO i looked it up and the H1 alpha with the 6.6L DURAMAX diesel gets an avg of about 11.5 mpg, not tooo horrible. but i looked up the h2 and ive seen people saying they avg as high as 16.7 but also ive seen people saying they got as low as 9.9 so i guess it depends on ur driving. anyway back to what i said the h2 offers some practicality to the brand and still decent offroading although the h1 was better. bottom line: any hummer poons any jeep, landrover, etc.

i read online that it can avg as high as that, but thats only if you keep it on cruise control at 55 for a while i assume. anyway, im on vacation right now in arizona, and i drove from lake powell to phoenix, around 300 miles, and i avged 27.4 mpg for the trip in a toyota 4runner, so it is possible to get decent gas mileage on suvs, you just have to try hard
