Never knew till recently that this was a direct cover of Carl Mann's 1959 version. Gerry has a better voice, but the original is still the original. For Carl Mann, this must have been the follow up to his version of Mona Lisa, another Nat Cole song. Mann is more rockabilly too. Check the originals here on YouTube. You'd be surprised.
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll
Gerry was by far at his best with this group of pacemakers. Brother Fred on drums and Les Micquire on piano and Les Chatwick on bass. Thses guys could play "live" better then most of the early British fair. Watch the new Tami Show DVD you will see they did know thier material. Gerry is bigger today, but his backup band has no clue how to play like the early group......
I agree. Gerry Masden is not appreciated as a vocalist. I've always liked his voice and I like his personality as well. Shame that the other pacemakers didn't seem to have that quality. He was a one man show, really.
Can't stop my foot from tapping.I love it!

Thanks for posting! Gerry Marsden is an under appreciated vocalist. It would have been great to see them at the Cavern Club!
