  • Cultural Dance? Make them naked and chanting mumbo jumbo with their penis' pierced with hooks so that the virgins could not escape their rapings. Read your history. (And learn the difference between there and their.) The Europeans had vast libraries and were sailing the world while we were naked & climbing coconut trees. I'm not ashamed of it, but I certainly can't turn my back on the progress they attempted to bring us. Who do we blame for the murderers and thieves who rule us now? Wake up.

  • Lapu Lapu was a murdering savage and I am a Filipino. We show him and his men dressed in Satin Garments. They were naked! Only a loin cloth! Uneducated and animalistic. They not only killed the Spanish but were renowned for raiding and killing the other tribes in the area.

  • Fuck Spain! all Europeans do that. there king would tell his army to lie to the natives that there trying to colonize.

  • hindi nmn dapat tyo kristyano eh masaya ka sa kristyanismo pero sa sinira nilang kultura ntin di ka nanghinayang!!!

  • cebubeaches is stupid meng... if ur a real noypi or a human being u wouldn't want anyone to change who u are and ur culture and that's what magellan was doing in the philippines...

  • How can anyone call Lapu Lapu a hero in this great Catholic country? Magellan brought Christianity to the Philippines. He sailed the world and never attacked anyone. He didn't attack Lapu Lapu either. He only took 1 of his ships to Mactan, leaving the others docked in Cebu. He only wanted to baptize Lapu Lapu and gave him 3 days advance notice that he was on his way.

Lapu Lapu's men jumped out of the Mangroves and MURDERED the man who brought Christianity to our shores. A hero?

  • Of course Lapu-lapu is a hero, Spain used Christianity to oppress us for 300 years! WTF! I hope you're not Pinoy!

  • christianity is just a cover up for colonization you dumb ass! magellan's primary mission was to find a colony, not to spread christianity.... and he just doesnt want to baptize Lapu Lapu, he wants submission of lapu lapu to the King of spain... learn your history

  • @CebuBeaches how would you feel if a man comes to your house and tries you change your beliefs? and the way your tribe acts. Christianity is stupid anyways, they pledge on not killing because its a sin, but then they kill people and force them to obey christianity..

  • @CebuBeaches Honestly if you think about it most countries that had europeans bring Christianity to there country they ended up dying or oppressed.

  • shorter version: Lapu-Lapu jumps out of the audience and impales Magellan with a spear, before that: escrema vs. western fencing

  • that wouldn't give the full "cultural expereince" of teh event then though, lol

  • great video mokong

only if this video was avaliable when i did my cultural heritage report lol XD

  • its alright

it was like 2 years ago lol

  • ooh, i never knew hotels had performances like these!! im impressed!! ^^

  • I didn't know they did it either till I got there... some hotels especailly 4 and 5 stars mostly would have some sort of entertainment, but this was a bit different I'd say from what others might do.

  • WOW! That's a great cultural dance show depicting Lapu-Lapu's heroic exploits.

Thanks for putting the dialogue annotations.

It made watching the dance more interesting.

Funny how they showed a tarpauline picture of the

Battle of Mactan to hide the actual act of killing

Magellan in the dance. For the benefit of the children watching in the audience, I guess. Hahaha! :-)

Thanks for sharing this footage, Franklin. X-D X-D X-D
