Never played 10 myself, but I admit that the music is amazing! probably, the game itself is just as good...even if it isn't, the music always make up for it! NOBUO UEMATSU!!!YOU ARE GOD~!!
Very nice touch in FFX when the battle theme moved over for this. Something very melancholic about seeing Auron smack an enemy into orbit with this playing.
Since they're adding in multiple characters from each game, what do y'all think our odds of getting more ffx characters? Personally I think Auron would work really well, but it would be better to have Yuna who would be far different than most other characters, like Terra a magic user or potentially her FFX-2 Appearance with her guns and she can switch dress spheres or whatever to use many different jobs. Yuna would be great because she has her own opposing enemy in Seymour and he'd be awesome
@ZaikuZERO Yuna has been confirmed in the latest trailer. A brief shot of her feet and the bottom of her FFX dress was teased near the end (Replicating the scene where she walks on water for a sending)
I loooove this version of the song, but I do prefer the original over this one. With all the arranged instruments in the background in addition to the piano, it doesn't sound sad or melancholy. I mean, isn't that what the original was supposed to signify? FFX was definitely one of the saddest games storywise. FFX forever!
I can imagine this... the Player is lvl 1 fighting against a bad-ass lvl 100 with amazing armor and diffuculty. The lvl 1 has shit armor, but tries his/her best to win...hmm...that would be an epic fight if the lvl 1 DID win O-o.
Auron maybe the inspirational and kickass character, but he wasn't the only reason WHY we played FFX. Sure the other characters were awesome. Sure crashing a forced wedding between a summoner and a dead guy kicks serious ass, but it was the music. Once you hear the music of this game, you just can't escape. Especially this song. Gives me chills.
This is it. This is your story. It all begins here. - Auron
Tidus-Listen to my storys this may be our last chance". Inukai- ooo a flash back O.O So touching master Tidus T_T. I LOVE THAT GAME EVEN IT'S STILL OLD BRINGS ALOT OF GREAT MEMORIES The only part i hated was to get his ultimate weapon lol but friggin strong 2001 huh man 9 years and still worth alot of playing it
Final Fantasy's Wikia says Movement In Green, but a few OST websites say Sprouting, so...I think it depends on which language. See, when the Dissidia soundtrack first came out, we got the titles of the songs. Then following the US release of the game, the US soundtrack got different titles for the songs, making some confusion.
So, Movement In Green, Sprouting, whichever you choose.
@gamecreator91 I'll just say Tidus...he's the reason i wasn't able to fully get into 10. Don't get me wrong, rest of the party is cool (Aurons a total badass though), the game-worlds neat and the music is still top notch but it's difficult to get sucked into a game when you hate the main protagonist. But hey, i'll give Tidus some credit, he's WAY better then Vaan and Panello (and Hope, and vanille).
Anyway, even if i don't really like ten as much, i still think it's musics pretty cool.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I love FF 7, 9, and 11 the best. I hated X's cutscenes (most of them) the story line and the music was excellent its just that like stated before Tidus is to.... hyper/whiny/... well lets just say emotional. I hate when characters get all emotional
I'm not here to bash FFX because it had an engaging storyline & many well-thought-out, complex characters...okay, MOST of the characters were good. Can anyone tell me Tidus' role in the story? There're so many stronger personalities than his, all of whom made the decisions, so he wasn't the leader. The only reason I can think the creators put him in FFX was as the love interest for Yuna, because he doesn't contribute anything significant. & please, nothing about his dad- a brief rewrite can fix.
Exactly. I progressed through the whole game with the feeling that Tidus was extra baggage. He always followed behind the rest when in the temples, always behind them when walking into a scene; he had no real purspose to contribute. His whole contribtion feels like the background story abandoned after his arrival in Beseid only to be picked up again near the end.
What Tidus got was character development. Lots of it. Also, the fact that he turns out to be, basically, an illusion and fantasy, which may or may not be bashing towards the concept of Mary Sues (or Marty Stues, in this case).
He had to die due to this.
Which makes the ending of FFX-2 so much more irrating, even if it was beautiful and romantic, it seemed like a... fanfic. A good fanfic, but still a fanfic.
Can you elaborate then please? I'm trying to understand. How did Tidus develop? If his dad wasn't at the end of the journey (which, as Leotribal pointed out, was the ONLY reason Tidus was there), then what did Tidus contribute to the story? I guess I'm just having a hard time finding a role for him to fill. Can someone give me specific example for what affects he had on the other characters (besides Yuna)?
Tidus developes from a mary-go-lucky celebrity, who lives in a glittering world of shining lights and sports-fame (with mommy and daddy issues, but still) to a guy who lost everything he ever had, has seen death and 2-3 desasters, had to fear for his only friends in this alien environment for many times and knows that this all is not going to come out of this alive, no matter what he does. When you compare narrator-Tidus and player-Tidus early in the game, the difference is enourmous.
As for his effects on other characters: He had an effect on Wakka, due looking simmilar to Chappu, which gave Wakka kind of a brother-substitute (Lulu had a talk with Wakka about this) also it's Tidus who shows Wakka that it sometimes pays off to just go and try with all your power, instead of just giving in right away.
His effect Lulu again was, that he gradually changed her firm believes by steadly questioning everything she offered him about Yevon.
He also had influence on Kimarih, and not a small one. It's Tidus who tells Kimarih to stand up to the Ronso who bully him for his "inferiority" and Tidus becomes one of the few people Kimarih is willing to talk to (even if it's just a few words now and then).
His influence on Rikku was a bit more limited: She would not have joined the group if it wasn't for him, but except for that...
But, all in all, Tidus is basically the outside-of system-influence, that gets the others to think about Yevon.
Interesting. I hadn't noticed all this before. So he was there because of the effect he would have on the other characters . . . a pretty neat idea. It still feels like he's out of place, but that's because he /is/ out of place. It also explains why I didn't see him as contributing to the story: because he doesn't, at least not directly. His role's more like Gandalf's (yes, strange) than the hero's.
The one thing that was different about Tidus was that he actually CRIED during the game, something which no other hero would have done in his stead. Beautiful game, even though I have only watched it from a third person's point of view.
I wish I could have a PSP. Dissidia seems like a very exciting game to play!
[spoilers] yknow what i really like about Tidus is that he's emotionally strong. think about it for a sec', his father was an ass to him throughout most of his childhood (hence why he hates him), then when his dad disappears his mom passes away because she can't live without him, then Sin attacks his Zanarkand and throws him into another world, then finds out he's just a dream and shit happens. seriously though that'd be a lot to take in and yet he's not emo or anything lol.
While I respect your opinion and all, tbqh, EVERY FF main character, except for probably Squall, had to go through stuff that was just as bad or worse.
And since Jecht wasnt even abusive, just a bit of a jerk who couldnt properly express concern, it just made Tidus seem poignantly whiny and annoying to me...
That could probably be due to the fact that, up until that point, the graphics for Final Fantasy haven't been sophisticated enough to show. If you've played FFVI, you'll no doubt remember Celes on the Loney Island immediately after the world was broken. Or Cyan after the Phantom Train. And I'm more than certain Cloud was crying when Aeris died.
@DJDeathRevenant FF10 sucked a nut, it wasnt even Tidus's story hes just a whiny little faggot with an annoying voice and daddy issues, Yuna is the one that needs all the credit since shes the one willing enough to sacrifice her life for all of Spira, This game disgusted me, the battle system was one of the best ones yet and the soundtrack was excellent but the fucking character design and the plot was terrible. FF13 has also destroyed all of my perspective of what FF will be in near future.
@BenjaminEllett while i agree with you on the chars and most of the story (tidus can go and jump off a cliff XD) and the battle system was one of the best i seen and music best i heard but i will say the game that made me sick was 12 XD
Of course he does! He has ambition for a start... to be a sky pirate. He also has loyalty and nobility. And those are only some of the things that come to mind. =P
i always cry about this song everytime and it makes my about my lovely 90's and from the year 2000 until 2004! I LOVE FINAL FANTASY ALWAYS FOR EVER IN MY LIFE!!
to me FF8 and FF10 had the best OST...
FF8 had this real upbeat hype type of soundtrack while..
FF10 had this real classical, beautiful type of feeling

"Yuna is the one that needs all the credit since shes the one willing enough to sacrifice her life for all of Spira"
*SPOILER*
That's kind of funny, since Yuna's role goes to Tidus, and he ends up sacrificing himself for all of Spira.
Did you even finish the game?

Of course he does! He has ambition for a start... to be a sky pirate. He also has loyalty and nobility. And those are only some of the things that come to mind. =P

@Shadowsmoke11 but Vaan is cool...I like them as characters equally. I think that out of FFVII, VIII, X, and XII though that Cloud would be the best.

@Shadowsmoke11 haha, and Vaan will be in Dissidia 012...
Oh well, at least Lightning and Kain will be in it =)

This vesion is less sad that the Origian but it is twice as epic. It makes sence since Tidus from Dissidia is older than Tidus from FFX/FFX-2

tidus in dissidia is actually younger than ffx/ffx-2
