  • Many say that he's disrespectful of disabled people. Well, in my opinion he isn't. The song describes how all of us don't show any love to these people.

"Sleep on and dream of Love

Because it's the closest you will

Get to love" That's the truth guys. Who will ever fall in love with a disabled girl? No one, cause we are fucking bastards and only care about appearance n shit. I like the end verse of the song. She' ll be walking your streets, in the clothes that she went out and chose for herself.

  • There's something about this song which is outstanding from his other singles. It was his most dramatic song after Hand In Glove. Musically, it has one of the most complex arrangements of his entire repetoire. The use percussion instruments is rare for Moz. The bridge itself could be its own song. The voice which sounds between a wolf's howl, baby babble and a woman being tortured is rather sick. An extraordinary song which after 22 years from its release haunts the ears like a spectre.

  • It seems Moz is expressing some "inner Witch" in the video...Good Job!

  • Such a huge inspiration!

  • i brought this song up in conversation with a friend the other day and we both exclaimed "it's about me!" in unison...and it actually became a bit of an argument. he won, he was born in november. thus is the power of Morrissey's music.

  • I know this song is about disabled people but I've always wondered whether the title wasn't a metaphor for former Eastern Germany after the fall of the Wall. Indeed, the song was released in the Spring 1990.

  • @lyonslaforet No this one's pretty straightforward =)

It's easy to read too far into his work because it's so incredible, but a lot of times it really is as simple as what you get at face value

  • I love how his Manchester accent comes out in "discussing"

  • @Nonmachaine Me too!!!!

  • @Nonmachaine Love the Manchester accent! I love any English/British accent period!

  • @BoysLikeMeee

    It's a full stop.

  • It's got a sort of Kate Bush feel to it, don't you think? Amazing song, by the way :)

  • Morrissey is a poetic god. Both with The Smiths and as a solo artist. This song makes me sad every time I hear it. He writes so much about things that people take for granted. A person with a Disability cannot always enjoy the same life those who are not Disabled can. It just makes you think. My favorite lines in the song are the end...

    Oh one fine day

    LET IT BE SOON

She won't be rich or beautiful

But she'll be walking your streets

In the clothes that she went out

    And chose for herself

  • i think this video is about disabled pepole

  • I swear, Moz has a song for everything i've ever gone through. His music is damn poetry.

  • @watzzuppp Got a problem...there's a Moz song for that!
