Freddie was so beautiful, who gives a damn if he like men or women? I don't! he was a wonderful talent, and a beautiful person, inside and out. We will see you in Heaven!!!!!!
I can proudly say that I was a fan from their early days on. When I would play their music some people would say "well the music is good but they're gay aren't they"? As if that had anything to do with the wonderful talent they had. I would just say they will be one of the most respected bands in rock one day. I was right.

@MonkeyZorr they were doing a classic rock weekend on TV n thats where i got it from but to recall the name of the actual show i cant remember sorry :)
its every country that spreads the disease, there is always someone who thinks it can't happen them, and there's always someone who can't believe it has. I've watched friends of mine young and old deal with it, and I have also watched some of them die. I've also been lucky enough to see some of them live. Its everywhere and it sucks.
@gunkittie maybe where your from it is we dont hear of it alot here in australia but that doesnt mean its not around i personally have never known anyone with aids so i guess thats a good thing id hate to see anyone suffer n theres nothing i could do about it :(
@PINKNESSAPINK I'm in the States. You are lucky if you don't know anyone. Australia has one of the lowest HIV rates in the world and has one of the most successful disease prevention and public health education programs in the world. That is awesome and nice to know that somewhere out there the people are really listening. Kudos to Australia on that one for real! :)
@gunkittie there is people who have gone to jail here for willingly having unprotected sex and passing on the HIV virus so yea id say thats disease prevention lol well at least its a start anyways cause to do that is rather vindictive and calculating basically its giving someone a death sentance long and painful i could think of better ways to go thats for sure !! :)
@PINKNESSAPINK Ever read the book, April Fools Day by Bryce Courtenay? Its a biography documenting the story of his youngest son, Damon. He was a haemophilliac who contracted the HIV virus through contaminated blood product. It covers what it was like to suffer from this awful illness in the mid to late 80s in Australia. Damon Courtenay died April 1 1991. The same year as Freddie.
@PINKNESSAPINK I'l warn you that is isn't an easy read. There are some really touching moments within the book but a lot of the time, you need the kleenex nearby. I've read books of a similar length to it in a couple of days.. But it took me about two weeks to read this. I find the first couple of chapters take a little time. Then his writing style becomes clearer.
If Freddie say had the HIV virus say in 1992 then he would probably still be alive. I mean by that time they had the drugs to manage it, he still would have taken many pills everyday to stay alive, but he probably would have been alive with those drugs. I mean if Magic Johnson who got the virus in 1991 is still alive due to the drugs and exercising then. Freddie got in 1987 and back then there wasn't much you could do. Freddie may be gone, but we have Marc Martel the closest singer to him.

@redmustang03 It's believed that Freddie received HIV around 1984/1985. His HIV developed into AIDS around 1987. Magic Johnson made his HIV announcement about three weeks before Freddie died. I remember Larry Bird crying and so many other NBA legends feeling so bad because back then it was a death sentence.
There are a lot of "if only" and you can't believe how many times I've said those words.
I like Marc Martel. He is not 100% Freddie in vocals but I'll take what I can get.
@Yo1969Yom, when Magic got the HIV the only way to manage it was with 40 pills a day . You can get AIDS even without the HIV virus like chemo, lupus, an autoimmune disease. AIDS is basically someone with almost no immune system. So the HIV virus destroys the immune system. Surprised that if Freddie did HIV in 84 that he survived 7 years without the drugs to manage it. With Marc Martel he's the closest thing to Freddie unless there is someone else out there.
@redmustang03 Correct, AIDS is a process that destroys your immune system. HIV has no symptoms but Freddie felt something was not right. From the reports I've read it seems only two people knew he had HIV, Mary Austin & Queen's manager Jim Beach. When his immune system was hit (AIDS) which was around 1987 Freddie told a few more people.
Freddie did take drugs for HIV/AIDS but back then the drugs did more harm than good. A lot changed in 1991 but it was already too late for Freddie.
i was 18 - 19 when he died....i dont know much about aids drugs or thier time line..AZT was out then which boosted the immune system...but i think about people like magic johnson who asmited he had hiv 20 years ago..he is still alive and rather plump...when i was 14 i knew a guy who had aids, it really was hard to deal with and sad because in 87 there was SO much ignorance and hatred over it...he was in college at an arts school i went to..really nice guy..i wont ever forget him.
@Hellsconsort Can you imagine with the internet and all the social media in the digital age, how would Freddie be able to fight all the garbage media today.
@Paul8820 I liked him but he was a bit of a funny one to be honest, very showman and extravogant but very shy and does not want to be there, also when you see him in interviews so I think media today would have hurt him in his privacy.
But to a degree Freddy because he was so well liked and popular helped with Aids awareness and gay rights when he died and people learnt more about his life etc. So media can be helpful too.
@JaikEEnhieLLe17 its impossible, they can only find good drugs to increase life but no cure because the virus mutates all the time. :/ If you get AIDS, you die.
That's not -quite- true... yes they can never cure it, but the anti-retroviral drugs they have now are damn good. They inhibit the virus's ability to replicate inside your body, and that keeps you alive for a very very long time.
These drugs have actually brought people back from the brink of death. Freddie missed the 'Aids cocktail' by only a handful of years. It's really tragic.
@sam6350 True, he missed it and yeah the drugs nowadays can keep you alive for a very long time. But not all people can afford the best drugs thats why people still die. Sometimes i wonder why they dont make these drugs cheaper... anyway, its a pity people still die because of AIDS today.
@marilynr46@JaikEEnhieLLe17 It usually takes 10 years or more for an HIV infection to turn into AIDS. However, anti-HIV medications can radically interfere with HIV’s destruction of the immune system and lengthen a person’s life expectancy. With proper treatment, some people now living with HIV may never develop AIDS and can live a normal life span.
@PINKNESSAPINK Yes, I know it can take up to 10 years or more for HIV infection to turn to Aids. I read in a recent biography of the band, that Freddie found out he was HIV positive in 1987. He began engaging in in promiscuous sex with other men, beginning around 1980, according to the book. I know that HIV destroys the immune system by using the T3 (Helper Ts) as the host cell. As the virus reproduces, T3 count drops. Aids drugs target the enzymes the virus needs to reproduce, protease, etc.
@JaikEEnhieLLe17 as long as the big pharmaceutical companies makes billions of dollars on the aids medicine i dont think we'll see a cure.... sad but true :( capitalism at its greatest!
@lurifaxable its countries like africa that spread the disease they cant feed themselves yet they root like rabbits wheres the sense in that !! so many kids are born with HIV over there its sad to think there life is over before it starts they should provide them with condoms first then food and that way they cant mass produce n have more hungry sick kids not thats sad but true !!!!!!!!!
Personnaly, yes of course, we can't see no more Freddie's human appearence, but his voice is, and will always be with us, forever, that is "the Miracle". Hi Freddie ! Are you agree with me ? ;-)
What a GREAT loss the music world lost the day this musical genius was silenced forever. Will forever wonder what was yet to come from Freddie over these past 20 years and beyond. RIP Freddie wherever you may be, but I'm sure you're still creating beautiful music and in some way still inspiring future generations of musicians from the great beyond, but of course, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!! RIP Freddie and keep on rocking Roger and Brian!
I'm not wasting anymore of my time with you. You are simply one whopping extra-terrestrial IDIOT. Go back to your alien planet and let us humans be. Or simply go somewhere on this planet and DIE.
The "I still love you" ad lib on "These Are the Days of Our Lives" is actually an echo of the "I still love you" that Freddie often did in concert while singing "Love of My Life". I think adding the same phrase on DOOL was a message to all the people Freddie loved - the fans, Mary, Jim, his parents/sister, Brian, Roger, John, etc. It was a parting gift - a message of continuing love that death could not (and still cannot) diminish. A way for Freddie to somehow stay with all of those he loved.
@KindredPoem Yes, I agree! I'm sure the song was sung for his fans, but when Freddie says "I still love you", I think it might have been for his lover Jim Hutton or Mary Austin, who he always referred to as the "love of his life". Whoever was on the recieving end of those beautiful words surely knew that they were meant for them. Freddie loved making songs about love and being in love! I'm so glad he didn't die alone. Love you Forever Freddie!
this video made me very sad :(

3:33, Freddie shouts "SHOE!!!" and Roger lifts his shoe up. Coincidence?
Zebonka 10 months ago
@Zebonka
You are SUCH an idiot...
Freddie does not shout "SHOE", he shouts "SHOW".
I am sure you think you are funny, but you are simply pathetic and nothing beyond that...
But then of course, you might simply be an unprecedented idiot. That certainly seems plausible.

@kimvlachos You ridiculous wog.
Zebonka 6 months ago
@Zebonka
"Wog"? How old are you, 80 or something?
Now I get the full picture: You just cannot understand English, that is why you wrote that Freddie shouts "SHOE".
As I said, simply an unprecedented idiot. It is not plausible, it is a certainty. End of story.
You are the world's greatest idiot.

I'm not wrong. You fool!

@Zebonka
I'm not wasting anymore of my time with you. You are simply one whopping extra-terrestrial IDIOT. Go back to your alien planet and let us humans be. Or simply go somewhere on this planet and DIE.
kimvlachos 5 months ago
Bahah, fuckin' retard. It's great watching you lose your mind. "Alien planet"?? Jesus, you're crazy! I like it.

Freddie Mercury was 45 years old when he died, not 46.
MsSweetunes 11 months ago 2
@MsSweetunes He was born in '46

when Freddie said i still love you had a message for someone ... it was too expressive
KindredPoem 1 year ago
@KindredPoem Yes, I agree! I'm sure the song was sung for his fans, but when Freddie says "I still love you", I think it might have been for his lover Jim Hutton or Mary Austin, who he always referred to as the "love of his life". Whoever was on the recieving end of those beautiful words surely knew that they were meant for them. Freddie loved making songs about love and being in love! I'm so glad he didn't die alone. Love you Forever Freddie!
