Isn't the reason this is sped up because on the original vinyl version of the album The Buttholes decided to make you have to change the turntable speed between songs?

Crazy crazy fcking world. It was sped up to figure out the lyrics. I too would like them. It is weird that Gibby's voice sounds normal at this speed. What do I know about death. I used to be death.

When things are slowed down on tapes, the pitch is affected. The buttholes used this on the first version of graveyard where the entire recording was pitched down by slowing it, but most of the time Gibby's vocals are uber-distorto its because of the Gibbytronix effects and not the recording.
