It's not just about convenience is it? Experienced chefs develop an attachment to their trusted tools. It's a style as much as a method of getting things done.
eating from the same bowl. nice touch. i'm a bit for the spanish-mediteranean kind when it comes to venison, goat or lamb. tomatoes, olives, goat cheese, spices.
OK - Here's the program girls - Out in the West - we do the samo - cut off any fat or sinew material - tastes like shit! Agree w/ beer, stock or water after browning. Take a shot of wild Turkey or WHATEVER that SHIT IS...Add liquid while it's cooking.....Deer meat is lean - if you don't like sausage - do bacon or NOT! Push coals to one side. Dig a hole where the fire was- put some coals in the bottom - put in the pot of stew - cover w/coals and dirt with the handle stickin out - cook all day
REALLY glad i found this recipe!! i have a lovely venison roast in the deep freeze. :D i know what i am going to use it for.. going to try this recipe out. Thanks Fella's!
That is something that every person should experience. Not all people get the feeling of good eating by a campfire and from personal experience there is nothing better! Great job guys!
I wish they didnt add these stupid advertisements before youtube videos. Bad enough we have commercials, they're in our football stadiums, in your face on the T.V. behind the umpire in baseball games... If I see the mcdonalds arch one more time ima snap!
I've been a fan for a while now, bullsnutsoz. I love all of their recipes. I just didn't know they got any profit off of the advertisements. If that's the case, I guess it's OK for BBQPB to have ads...
You guys are the best. You showed how good friends, food and a fire are the only way to go. I loved the part where he cleaned the stump with his beer.
me and my three brothers plus 2 cousins went camping up bear mountain.. and while there i tried this recipe.. but instead of vension i did lamb.. omg it turned out great.. the beer and beef stock brings sooo much flavor when heated.. and the lamb and mushrooms n veggies absorbed the flavor and all the goodness... this meal was soo delicious.. me and the guys sat and ate till the pot was empty..
really? I havn't ate stew once in my whole life but I ate soup. I can't imagin how beer can actually make it taste good though cause like isn't it really bitter? But anways I would looove to try someday
@Princ3Ch8rming Sounds great with a leg o' lamb. I made this with a pheasant a buddy brought me once. It's a no-brainer stew recipe. i did it at home, but once it's boiling, it don't matter where ya do it - it's 100 degrees period. Slow cook it for slow hours and it can't kill you no matter what. I love these BBQ Pit guys!
this one reminds me of me and buddy when we go huntin up here in Pa. We tend to spend more time around camp eatin and gettin drunk than we do in the woods LOL
These dudes should have there own TV show or something. I have watched every single vid, each ONE is EPIC!!!!! Thank you BBQ pit boys, much appreciated
if i ate a stew prepared on an old log and an open fire i'd go out and wrestle the first, second and third bear i could find. those good eats are tuuufffff.
man i am so happy they did a deer recipe because venison has the best taste of all meat to me it is also a very versatile meat really the only thing you can't get from a deer is a good steak theirs just not enough fat also my family butchers all our own meat i am also a very avid hunt er i am going to cook this to night
hey ic34914, this venison stew recipe removes the gaminess from the meat. It is the perfect intro for someone who has never eaten deer and is reluctant to because of what they heard from others. -BBQ Pit Boys
