My family loves these videos, I was born in pittsburg grew up all over the country. only spent half of my senior year of high school there and went to college there. But apparently apart from the accent they think this is me. I mean except for the guy being a gay porno star from the 70's( their words not mine). personally i think he has a lot of good advice, and it all boils down to don't be a jagoff. don't waste things, don't mess up people's shit, don't get in others way, intentionally or not
I am SICK from laughing!!!!! PLEASE keep making them!!! I cannot WAIT to see the Kennywood ones!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!...xoxoxo Love Yinz Guys! Gooo STILLERS!! LOL
I grew up with a Pittsburgh dad.....he joined the Marines and by the time I was born he was far away from the burgh, but he still to this day talks like that! It brings back memories.
Summer in the Burgh: Out after breakfast, in for lunch when the 12:00 whistle blew, in for dinner when dad pulled in the driveway and in for the night when the street lights came on and God help us if we had to be called. Rainy day: play on someone's porch. Best sight of summer: seeing dad cleaning the windshield . . . that meant DRIVE-IN!
@dadsburghgirl God, I remember that whistle. I can just close my eyes and picture myself as a child running around in my old neighborhood. I always listened for that whistle and wondered where it came from.(My dad didn't work in the mill). It sounded like it came from some far off place. The whistle meant the noon news with Bill Burns was coming on KDKA. Then my mom would watch her soaps.
Brother, you are onto something great! Please keep up on this... make time and do it. If this was on TV I would watch it religiously! Don't change a thing, the opening is perfect.
I'm really enjoying the videos. Thanks so much. I read that someone else though it sounded like Mr. Rogers and I agree. Is that a recording of the late, great Johnny Costa?
LMAO.... THESE ARE SO SPOT ON! they are funny in themselves, but when you grow up in and around pittsburgh, its even more hilarious, its like an inside joke as well
hahaha lmao....this is my first viewing so perhaps a lil' premature to say but...wouldn't it be hilarious to show the dads car sputtering and struggling to get up one of Pgh's monster hills lol.... I cant wait to watch more webisodes....already reminds me of so much Pittsburghese' lol like how so many people say "Gi' Niggle" (Giant Eagle) lmao and "grind meat" (ground meat)....congrats fellas!
@burghblonde I loved my chipped ham sandwiches too. I would make a bee line to Isleys when I went back home. I remember my dad taking us to the big Isleys store in Oakland when I was a child. The building was so beautiful with the lights shining on it. It looked like a giant block of French Vanilla ice cream. I wish I could find a photo of it to hang in my kitchen.
This was amazing, you MUST make more videos. I liked the laugh track! Gave it a funny sitcom feel. And there were so many tiny gems in here, "grass clippins", "fans are blowin'", "yinz better just bring it in"... ahh I'm so proud to be from the 'burgh :)
This is brilliant. I like the overuse of the laugh track, but maybe scale it back a little. It gives that authentic feel of a 70s/80s sitcom or a British one-camera comedy (i.e. Keeping Up Appearances). I can't wait to see the next one. I saw WDVE posted this on their website.
Come na! Don't be laughing and carrying on about this guy. He works a long day down on the job site, the Etna bypass is closed cause of da flooding we've had all spring, let it go.
@AcademicExplorer that is awesome comments and 'at. Grew up in shaler and the Etna bypass comment brings back memories of the prom night flood of '86. good times. good times.
