haha i have been waiting for you to upload a video. I need to get on that too. I got more fish. And my JD is huge. Ill get on that this week at some point. Very nice as always. WIll alwys be a tank to look up to
Thanks so much, I put a lot of work into fixing up, and now maintaining all my tanks, and the only thing that feels better than my own enjoyment of them, is to know other people enjoy seeing them also. I try to keep my videos updated, I'll have to check yours out too, thanks for watching.
none to check out right now haha. You commented my catfish one. Id be lucky to see him 1 time a week, and not even swimming. hiding upside down underneath a rock. but yea updates of both my tanks to come. Im trying to figure out a good time to record because of all the glares from the different windows.
i hear ya, best time to take some video is at night so your not getting the glares from outside. I am going to check for you and find out what kind of catfish you have, do I have permission to re-post your video? I know where I can ask and probably get an ID on it for you. I really think it is part of the Synodontis family, but I will find out for sure.
Cool, I did, I knew you'd say yea, lol, everyone said that it was a Synodontis nigriventris (upside down catfish), they wern't positive because the video was a little blurry, but they were all pretty sure.
well what i could do is next time i do a thorough clean (take all the rocks out) ill record him with my good camera for a minute or so. Hes pretty fascinating. looks prehistoric. But yea i have been busy with college and club soccer and im jsut getting a job so thats gunna make it worse. I hardly have any time right now haha. Ill get on it mabye tomorrow.
Sounds good, whenever you get the time. I understand, we are getting ready for a baby, so I know what you mean about being busy. They also said it could be from the doradidae family by the shape of it. A few people have said it looks like a spotted raphael catfish. We'll figure it out, if it isn't one of these we will get a better picture up and get a good ID on it.
Yea, so a bit of an emergency with one of my fish. I noticed yesterday he was chillin up by the top of the water. In my 10 gallon, its an OB. and now today he is swimming around upside down. I hope its swim bladdder. So i fast him for a few days then feed him peas right? If he doesnt die... Not good not good. So random too.
Thanks for the congrats, I am excited, we are going for the ultrasound next Tuesday, we'll hopefully find out if it is a boy or a girl. I haven't had a swim bladder problem with any of my fish yet, but from what I hear the treatment is fasting and peas. Hopefully you can fix it, I hate loosing fish. Well good luck with him and keep me posted.
he died. found him on the bottom. 20 dollar fish... ouch. thats not the bad part though. It was so random. i hateeee losing fish, Makes me feel like i suck at what im doing haha
Very nice, as always! How many do you have in there? Did you do anything special to the rocks before you put them in there? I am about to get more natural rock so I am interested on what you did! Nice nice job!!
I have about 28 cichlids. With the rocks I didn't do a whole lot to them to get them ready for the tank, I did rinse them very well and scrubed them with some aquarium salt. You can also boil them if you are real worried, but I had no problems with how I prepared the rocks I have.
Very clean water. I am also about to do a water change to my tank. Oh, and I am moving this summer on a trip longer than 1,000 miles. Not to mention we are driving. So do you have any suggestions or tips? I was thinking about hetting a gladware container and holding it in my lap the whole way. Will my Oscars survive? Thanks.
I would go get a large cooler, I would put your oscars in that for transport, also get a battery powered airator. You will also want to pack the filter media in some tuberware with some tank water. When you get to your new place make sure to set up the tank first thing.
