  • Shall i push the button?

  • Patriot fail to hit 50% of SCUD missiles in Gulf war in 1991 and i still remember that Saddm SCUD that was only 300 meter close to our house

    fuck we need the S-400

  • el patriot no puede con el scud

  • NOT ALL THE SCUDS ARE FROM 83

  • Command and Conquer anyone?

  • And that's my job!

  • Saddam Hussein fired dozens of SCUD missiles at Israel during the Gulf War, but I can't find any info on if they actually hit anything and caused damage. I just read about that yesterday.

  • @bronzeknight2011 they were intercepted

  • 48 Russians disapprove this video.

  • PAC-2 missiles didn't fire straight out, they did a circular "wobble" in the acquisition phase before really taking off to interception. PAC-3 missiles may be different.

Also, SCUDs ARE accurate. The problem with Iraqi scuds were that they were unstable from having an additional booster segment added for additional range. Patriot hit almost every SCUD it fired upon, but at the time they were still fused to strike center of mass, so often the missile would just break up, warhead intact.

  • @rob583

Scud-D is a lot more accurate

  • WHOAH DOUBLE EXPLOSION!!! ALL ACROSS THE SKYYYYYY!!!

  • Gotta love the subtle dig at the F-22 at 0:39. They're shown basically failing to prevent any of the launches.

  • It was independently verified that their success-rate in the 2003 Gulf Conflict was almost 100% against the Al-Samoud 2 ballistic missiles due to the PAC-3 Patriots’ tracking software being completely re-written . The software used in the 1991 conflict had a bug that meant after 100 hours usage the system’s clock was out by one third of a second. Due to the closure speed of both the target and the missile interceptor this resulted in a miss distance of 600 meters.

  • While I wasn't in Isreal so can't comment on what happened there, I DID personally see a Patriot take out a scud over Dahran Airbase in Saudi Arabia in Jan '91.

  • @bergenrc LOL that must be a rare sighting it's a proven fact that the patroit hit spent fuel tanks 98% of the time and the warhead came in to detonate... SCUDs carry their own decoy / penitration aids the fuel tanks and related parts break up on re entry giveing multipull targets on radar generaly targeting the largest parts the fuel tanks.. The reason the Patroit was a huge failure in the first gulf war with 0 intercepts out of 39 in Israel . Just more Reathon high dollar junk........

  • Shall I push the button? xD

  • Le nom du compositeur ?

  • ghadafi will use one of these

  • there could be something like C&C: Generals 2 and THIS video should be in mission briefing =)

  • what is the last musique

  • Awesome computer graphics and awesome music.

  • 38 people were riding those SCUDs

  • Can i have some shoes????

  • This is how C&CG should have looked.

  • Why is the radar ahead of the launchers?

  • If anyone knows what the song/theme used here is from, please send me a note

  • Well fuck me that was epic.

  • shall i press the button ?

  • Whats the songs? :P

  • The new Patriot will vaporize a missile.

  • Israel was LUCKY we even sent Patriot Missile batteries to them. The Israelis were years behind development in any anti-missile missile technology i.e. their ARROW. But it's typical of the slow pace of Israeli weaponry development. That's why Israel is the #2 purchaser of military weaponry from the U.S., with the U.S. being 1st.

  • To bad that patriot dont actually work. xaxaxaxa

  • Shall I push the button

  • @johnmailloux cc generals??

  • propaganda - patriots don't work. Every explosion in the first gulf war was a self-destruct mechanism enacted from failed contact. Every explosion is a road not built, a school not maintained, someone's pension down the drain.

Warfare has changed. High tech garbage like this is bells and whistles to justify military spending that diverts resources from the poor to the rich.

  • @CamiloSantana The patriot's reliability and accuracy has been greatly increased in recent years. In addition it will soon be replaced by MEADS. Currently, systems like THAAD, Aegis BMD, and several chemical lasers are being developed and deployed. I agree that many projects in the military have price tags that are absurd. As future generations of Americans reform this country, all parts of the government will need to be streamlined and made efficient.

  • the more modern patriots are as accurate as a professional sniper. i just signed onto the army to be a patriot missile system maintainer/operator. going to have some fun in life now, but training is going to be a bitch

  • @miketheredneckable you are so stupid. Reclass when you can. You want a good life. This is a bullshit MOS. They just deploy you into the field over and over again for no reason. You won't go anywhere, which means they'll view you as worthless and come back later to take all of your stuff.

  • @returnoftheramble3 it beats the hell out of infantry like i was originally going to do doesnt it?

  • @miketheredneckable no, the infantry has fun. You won't have any fun. Yu can reclass after a year of being in. You'll get there and see waht I'm saying. If you can change, do. It sucked. I had another MOS, 88L and it was so much better.

  • @miketheredneckable did you get a bonus? that's the only thing it's good for. I got 5,000. I knew people that got a lot more.

  • @returnoftheramble3 i signed for of course after 9 weeks basic and 22 aditional ait training weeks, for 3 years and 35 weeks, with a 6k bonus if you must know. entering as a e2 due to my special qualifications with my future soldier training and my buddy is possibly joining as well which may bump me to a e3 starting in basic

  • @miketheredneckable 24Ts Rock!!!

  • I dont know what this is but it is bad ass, i had to log in to say it.

  • Army Air Defense Atillery - Patriot Defense

  • this is a computer anima

  • this is a computer anima

  • I have met a man that said PATRIOT saved his FOB and that was in the Gulf war. It has had many updates since then like PAC-3 and is a lot more accurate. You cant hate on something that even makes it 1% safer for troops or civilians.

  • patriots are not that good actually russian anti-aircraft(olso anti-misile sistems)are far bether and cheaper sorry buth thats the true

  • Oh really? Saddam DIDN'T have nuclear or bioligical warfare ... But you guys were certain? Oh... I see, the oil. My bad...

  • @aztaclalz so what happened to the Nuclear facilities and Oil in Iraq. Which one got stolen?

  • @iamidiotanddumb Lololol - Someone's been fed with US propaganda - Good job, sport.

  • @aztaclalz yea that would be you

  • @iamidiotanddumb No, clearly you allow yourself taking it in more and more... Sad

  • @aztaclalz I dont understand. Whats on you mind. Porno. Typical for a troll

  • @iamidiotanddumb What are you 12 years old? Stop watching Fox-News, kiddo.

  • @aztaclalz Come on fox news its all a bunch of greedy monoplizers running the political game. Why would I trust them. There not doing anything for me nor you

  • ya the new system is called THAAD look it up on youtube. hits every time

  • Is this Arma 2 operation arrowhead?

  • бред!!!!!!!!!

  • this is all cgi this isnt the real thing . the system they have now is better than before they like any other thing they have had upgrades

  • This reminds my of C&C Generals

  • @TheLassart me two :) .... what a great game

  • @TheLassart

    LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL WEAPON!

    *MANIACAL LAUGHTER*

    lol good times

  • As a rule, for every person who likes a song there are 999 people who think that that song sounds like a camel farting. Aside from that, there are 998 people who think that the person who liked the camel fart is a camel fart sniffing douche.

Try to remember that when you post crappy songs to videos, people.

  • You are totally incorrect, I personally viewed a patriot intercept a Scud missile over Saudi Arabia.

  • @nusbaumt SO did I only in 2003 lol

  • I used to be in the Army and worked with Patriot Missiles. The source of this video is from a Army Security Briefing. If you have an active security clearance, and your patriot unit is deploying, you are given a secret briefing that contains this video in it. The source of the video is Army.

  • psychopathic murdering idiots

  • C 5-52 ADA had to most interception

  • A Patriot saved my life!!!

  • remember the first gulf war? exacly.. back then 39 scuds hit israel and not even one of the patriot missiles succeed intercepting any of the scud missiles, actually the patriot missiles just added more damage...

btw only one person was killed.. the radio alarm scared the shit out of him and the heart attack killed him.

  • @MichaelCGindi And your proof for this is...?

  • @rammen4

    my proof for this?

well.. the fucking history is the best proof

u ask me for proof before u even check, wtf is ur problem?

  • @MichaelCGindi Okay your history is your proof

Where is the "Source" for this "History"

  • @MichaelCGindi This is absolutely true. The patriot was initlaly touted as having hit all but 1 scuds they were fired at. In reality the actual percentage of successful hit was either 0% or 1%.

For the guy asking for proof:

Go to Foundation of American Scientists (fas.org) website read the following:

    1. Optical Evidence Indicating Patriot High Miss Rates During the Gulf War

    2. The Israeli Experience Operating Patriot in the Gulf War

  • @MichaelCGindi - this comment is both debatable and incorrect.

  • @Cambone13 what exacly is incorrect in my commect? i mean exacly.

changing history wont help you or anyone else.

  • @MichaelCGindi

Your a idiot.... Maybe you should know what your talking about before you try to seem like you have intelligence on the internet. Maybe YOU should look up the kill ratios for Patriot in its defended assets. That's like saying someone shot someone in Cali so the cops in NY suck.

Stop pulling random "facts" off the internet that you read and actually know what your talking about.

So a few Patriot batteries are supposed to defend all of Israel? Use common sense for once...

  • @MichaelCGindi This is not true. Where did you get this info? There is video of patriot intercepting tbm's. Ive been a patriot operator for like 9 years, so I know what im talking about. I think your just being cynical. Now im not saying that we did an outstanding job the first time around, but PAC-3 wasn't around till the mid 90's. Even now patriot is the only combat tested and proven by the way in 2003, ADA system. again I was there in 2003 so I can attest to that.

  • @tentons123

i agree with you, no prob at all but, the gulf war was like 18 or 19 years ago, those patriots designed to only intercept aricraft, not missiles.

btw if youre still in service you can ask some older operators, someone who does this job for more than 20 years..

  • @MichaelCGindi Yeah completely agree with you on that point. By the way 12 of the 13 TBMs shot down in 03 where with old pac-2 ATM-t's only one was with pac-3. There where 17 patriot batteries in Kuwait during all of this too. They didnt want to take any chances the second time, there is a saying Patriot is the best air defense system on the planet... uh when it works lol.

I am still in but I only have met a few individuals who claim to be from that era... 91 that is

  • @tentons123

Mind If I ask how large is a unit required to defend an airbase??Woudl a single designated MIM-104 battery sufice or is an entire 5 battery strong batallion required for such task??I am asking because Poland will mosot likely aquire former German MIM-104 PAC-2 (estimated 10-12 batteries) and I am curious if such number will sufficient o meet my countries needs I woudl greatly aprieciate an answer.

  • @Kharmazov they'll shoot down your pilots like nothing else. You need PAC-3 too if you want a prayer. My country is just doing that to justify setting up bases to invade Russia and Iran.

  • @Kharmazov I was on hot crew when they shot them, and they hit the side of a mountain. No, man, it'z sad.

  • @MichaelCGindi your talking about the second gulf war.

  • @MichaelCGindi terrific, now the technology has advanced 20 years. Remember you 286?

  • @MichaelCGindi Uhm, the patriots intercepted nearly all of the missiles, idiot. The patriot missile was never guaranteed to destroy the warhead in a missle in the early days of it's existence. But the patriot was guaranteed to destroy the missile. The majority of the 39 Scud missiles that entered Israel's airspace happened well before the U.S. even setup Patriot missile batteries in Israel. And why didn't Israel have it's ARROW anti-missile missile ready to go?

  • @MichaelCGindi. Back in the first gulf war, the Patriot missile was at its infancy like all other anti-ballistic missile defense systems. The Patriot was able to successfully shoot down a few Iraqi Scuds. However, the overall success rate of the Patriot missile defense system was between 10%-20% at the most.

  • @raiden711

It's because patriot could successfully enter SCUD's, "tail", but SCUD was faster, so patriot couldn't catch up with SCUD. That's why SCUD's hit Israelis first, and then patriots hit them adding more damage.

  • @hotnindza. Actually, the Scud was not faster. The PAC-1 had a speed of over Mach 3. The reason why the Patriot had overall failed to shoot down Scuds in 1991 was due to pieces of Scuds breaking apart from having to be poorly modified. These broken off pieces during flight served as unintentional "decoys" which fooled the Patriot guidance system, thinking one of the broken pieces was the Scud warhead. Falling debris from the Patriot may cause more damage, but its warhead explodes in the air.

  • @MichaelCGindi i heard that a study done by the dutch determined that the patriot missile actually did more damage to israeli infrastructure then the skuds it was deployed to counter

  • @101andrewj

that's from the pieces that came down from two missiles that blew up over head. Imagine the damage a scud with a chemical warhead would have caused. I wouldn't have been pretty I can tell ya that much.

  • @MichaelCGindi you do relize that was before the invention of the much more accurate PAC-3, yes? just making sure. but yes before that Patriot wasnt very reliable

  • @MichaelCGindi Oh you mean in 1990-1991? You don't think the Patriot missile battery system has been upgraded since then? Just take a look at what we spend on defense each year, then compound that with the Israelis since they had a hand in it till they started investing in Iron Dome

  • @MichaelCGindi You must've meant Gulf War II ..I remember one of the scud missiles hit eastern region of saudi arabia and many american & saudis soldiers killed

  • @MichaelCGindi , Now, who'll stop the scud?

  • @MichaelCGindi lol 39 scuds hit israel out of thousands. Things are the most inaccurate missiles conceived

  • @Zipito06 SCUDs are not inaccurate.

The lock onto a set coordinate.

  • What music is in the background?

  • @fieldman07 It is called Navras by Juno Reactor & Don Davis

It is the music played during the credits of Matrix: revolutions

  • Patriot missiles move WAY faster than in the vid. We should only see a red streak lancing out from the launch battery.

  • I miss being a launcher dawg!

  • @pauliesaf no u don't

  • @mrchazz100 it was a love/hate relationship

  • @pauliesaf You mean you miss 0400 recalls for piss tests and motor pool lockdowns when someone throws a cigarette butt out on the parking lot?

  • @ocontin40 when you turn your IFF on and follow the protocols you were heavily briefed on you don't get blown up. It sux, but it was their own faults. If you don't know the details, shut your ignorant mouth.

  • This video was created several years ago by DRDP. Seach for them for more cool stuff.

  • I don't get it. The government pays thousands of dollars for a single AT rocket with bad accuracy (just as an example), while GPS is so simple and cheap, they could easily implement it in every rocket and missle weapon and enter the target GPS coördinates by remote. This would've been more cost effective than the curent way of war. Our taxes could decrase, so that we civilians would have more money to spend!

Anyways...the only thing i know for sure, is that the army is spending to much money!

  • Comment removed

  • i remember at the early 90's when scuds were launched i remember one incident a scud was in the air and 6 patriots couldnt even bring it down successfully... plus what u r watching is a graphical stuff not real

  • @bevassimary However in OIF they hit everything they were fired at...easy. Software upgrades my friend, along with the first PAC3 combat hit ever, which was accomplished by my unit. In desert storm they were designed for aircraft, in OIF the software was fully converted for scuds.

  • @pauliesaf "However in OIF they hit everything they were fired at..."

Including a British Tornado and an American Hornet.

  • Actually PATRIOT stands for. Phase array tracking radar intercept on target. The patriot missile has never missed a missile engagement. The only issue is hitting the wrong thing. I.e. British planes

  • It isn't a video - it's a cartoon.

  • acyually we had Scuds launched from Iraq at 1991 gulf war, and tried to destroy them by patriot missiles, but it does not look similar to what I remember and besides -till today we don't know if the patriots gave real protection or just changed the route of the scuds or even incresed the damge because we had them both falling over our heads...

    Regards from Israel :)

  • @JusticeVSpropaganda Yes I was there too in Nahariya and one night we had a display of PEETRIOT v SCUD . It was like watching a bunch of bananas explode. !

  • this is so cool

  • this movie is fake its stupid CGI.

  • Looks like a demo video for modern warfare! But the Patriot is only effective in medium ranges! For great distances you should use other weapon systems!

  • No The Scuds Carries Anthrax On Their Warheads

  • C&C Generals indeed

  • I seem to remember that Saddam fired a bunch of scuds and the patriot missiles missed most of them.

  • @fischersrt you mean missed all of'em

  • @Terrorist79 I could believe that.........It's all about selling the arms not that they all work very well. Sometimes they profile these bizarre weapons or "dogs" on cable. What a waste of taxpayer money.

  • thats wrong.. iran used these scud missles from left over Russian equipment to set a target for isreal since we backed isreal with our good stuff. partiot missles were given to isreal, well i shouldnt say given cuss it was our best stuff back then, and the rules of america are that the top notch stuff goes to us, and the old stuff gets sold to other countries, but the partiot missles were used BY us, in isreal as a defense against scud missles for interception only.

  • patriot couldnt hit the goodyear blimp if it waz a windy day.

  • @derpotni3riots I bet I could hit your mother with a ghetto booty seeking missile. lol just playin

  • Un jeu video rien de plus

  • Game !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Patriot = Protection Against Treats Real Imagined or Theoritical.

  • @22250rmntn or Theatrical

  • @bol316

LOL... agreed, and I meant "Threats" for the "T" not "Treats".

  • what is the song???

  • patriot score 10% hit......what a waste

  • @khoihq

Against any decently modern missiles, especially those used by the Russians, it would be 0% :P.

  • @khoihq More like 110% in 2003. You want to talk about waste? Let's talk about the wasted money spent on your education.

  • @ocontin40 coming from a guy who named himself after a pill I'd say the only waste was your mother's fertalized egg!

  • @pauliesaf actually it's my last name but then only a pill popper would notice such a thing. have fun standing in line at the TMC.

  • Americans funded, gave tanks and bio chemical labs to sadam ^^ just for u to know, warhead killers

  • ........patriot or scud missiles for what purpose?....to scare the dog?

  • Hi, great vid which descripes the modern order of PATRIOT. But the designer did a big failture! At this time where you can see the missle launcher's there is the RADAR in front of the launcher. That is not true and wouldn't work, The launcher's must be in front of the radar to fire! ... But the vid is still good!

  • The word "SCUD" is not any initials, it's the code name given by NATO. They are also named "SCUD-a, SCUD-b, SCUD-c and SCUD-d". Can carry a 5-80 kilotons of nuclear or chemical(VX) explosives. The modern versions have a camera on the top of the warhead to "compare" targets (CEP).

  • awesome mann really really awesome

i had a very very high volume

and this was heaven sexy mann

u had 99 rating i jus completed ur 100 rating wow

  • sometimes the scuds we're too hard to the patriot to perforate the scuds, thats why the us army bought a number of s-300 to upgrade their old craps lol.

  • @MrXbox221 US never bought S-300s to beef up their patriots. they bought a single S-300 as ane eval system used to compare the two syetems. scuds did were not too hard for the patriot to intercept, they work just fine

  • @adventchild1001 They did buy them

  • You don't know anything, do you? They used F-15E planes outfitted with the LANTIRN systems and hunted down the SCUD carriers "TEL". And it's called CAP's not "pac" (Combat Air Patrol).. wtf do they learn in school?!

  • @TechnicalFreak freak

  • Scuds often broke apart upon atmospheric reentry. During the 1991 gulf war patriot missiles often hit the fragments of the scud leaving the warhead intact.

  • Not true. They later models were infact made of 2 parts. The warhead part and the "rocket" part. When approaching it's destination they separated..

  • @gejunot might I suggest that is because you are a retard?

  • @gejunot Remember we are talking 1991 technology. Your IBM PC was still using CGA.

  • WELCOME WWIII !!

  • that was pac 1 not made for intercepting

    the newest pac 3 can

  • What do the initials SCUD come from?I am still trying to figure out.

  • das sieht aus wie C&C Stunde null

its look like C&C Zero Hour

  • my Patriot System has a 97% pk rate ;)

  • USA

  • You are all a bunch of idiots. Patriot is the best air defense system in the world and the only combat proven one. none of you know because none of you ever even seen one. Patriot has also come a long way since 1991. ust watch my two vids and you will see why.

  • this video is so wrong in its depiction of how we do things its funny. think about this did they fly to the moon in giant rockets the whole way or was there some separation along the way, idiots thats what happens when you pay too much attention to tv and the radar being right next to the launchers lol oh man that's hilarious

  • Fantasy.... dream on!

  • Scud is an old system Russian has s 400 now

  • I think this is from one of the command and conquer games....and its fairly accurate...except the launchers are not that close to the radar but otherwise thisrepresents what patriot does

  • Where is your data from? 40%? Could not find it anywhere. A number you made up? Probably so.

  • lol epic

  • US missiles these days can fly through a window and detonate three feet from the ground. With a SCUD, you'd be lucky if you hit the right city.
