  • Desire is average. G2 all the way.

  • I don't think so. I think it's just another version of the same phone. Crazy for my N1. Also the (N1), other than a few small differences from the EVO, incredible, Droid x and 2, just to name a few. Yep, Samsung You too. Will always be ahead of the curve for a good while, with being the first to updates. Now I'm wait for the multi cores to come out. Should be next year, I think.

  • How can the HTC Desire possibly be a step up? The Nexus One is pure Android without any crap put on top of it, put it this way, do you thank PC manufacturers from loading new PCs with software you dont need, and the Nexus one gets all of the Google updates first and is a lot faster.

  • @DanNixon2007

You can turn of the sense interface. If you do the phone will have the exact same interface as the nexus one

  • @petererinkveld Yeah but that dosent make it a Nexus One, there are still HTC modifications that you can do nothing about, such as the Gallery app, but on the other hand at least HTC are taking updates more seriously than say Samsung and Motorola.

  • Get the iPhone 4! It is the best phone out!

  • just bought this phone and like it so much! easy to use and so many app to download in android market. :D

  • The only reservation for me is that if HTC don't update their sense UI then you don't benefit from any android updates. That and the nexus one has voice to text which i don't think the desire has and which I would really like to have.

  • why is there another htc in the back ground ???:P

  • @BERTEDUS Because they launched three phones at the same time. See our other videos for the Legend and HD Mini

  • This dude is clearly so uncomfortable infront of the camera, New blokey please!

  • Hi thanks for this video. Can you advise me does the Desire have a notification light for missed calls texts etc. I know the Nexus one has trackball for this option light. Thanks

  • @ryanonpiano Nope, there's no light. Instead you get a missed call icon in the title bar at the top of the screen.

  • @WhichWebsite I got a desire last week, and it DOES have a notification light, you even have a choice of colours and what functions it gives notifications for, missed calls text messages etc. Go back and re review the phone!!!!

  • @WhichWebsite That's not quite correct, the battery indicator light (top right of the phone) flash's green when you have a notification/missed call.

  • @WhichWebsite

Erm. There is a notification light on the HTC Desire, its on the top right hand side, just above the screen in the bezel.

  • @WhichWebsite

There is a green light for missed calls and co in the top, above the satus bar. But i think it's only if the screen is turned off.

  • @WhichWebsite It does actually! I have one myself!

  • @ryanonpiano Yes it has, notifys for emails, texts missed calls and voice mails. you can even pick the colour of the light, displays on the top right hand corner of the screen.

  • @ryanonpiano actually, the desire does have a notification light.

  • @ryanonpiano don't want to contradict what Which? have said in the comment, but yes there is, when you receive a text / e-mail / missed call an amber light flickers, the light is also in use when charging and goes green when battery is full.

  • @ryanonpiano Yes, it has got a notification light next to the hTC logo. ;)

  • yes it does. with some app, you can even set the notification light color..

  • @ryanonpiano yes it does

  • @ryanonpiano Yes it does have a notification light, did the reviewer look at the phone at all?

  • @ryanonpiano i say yes to that, you have a small light next to the htc logo in front, that you can with like the "handcent" app choose in witch color it will use for different notifications.

  • man you speak with a robot accent....

  • why is this dude always turning his head

  • HTC is starting to become the new nokia - they're releasing too many phones, and confusing the customers.... I got the Hero, then felt I should have waited for the Nexus One - until I saw this, but now I'm going to wait for the amazing HTC Evo...

  • I want to work for 'which'

  • "haytch-tee-see" :G

  • Argh! It's H-T-C not Haytch-T-C! :P

  • I hate htc.. They make to many damn phones.LoL!! I wish it would come to the states.. I think it will just as the HTC HD2 did.

  • wonder when its comin to at&t

  • if anyone here is australian and has the nexus one phoe can u clraify if vodafones mobile tv service will work straight up thanks

  • .the name s perfect :D, since i heard from that, i wanted it! *gg*

  • i was goin 2 get nexus 1 but now i am gonna wait 4 dis

  • @faddys123 Desire = Nexus one in a worse clothes, stupid sense UI and ugly design

  • @mkrmec It's your opinion. For me Desire > Nexus , and it's cheaper too :D I only miss the speech to text and noise reduction from N1, but the Desire has FM radio, flash in a browser, better multitouch (i think), Sense UI (i personally love it) and with the next update will record HD video and play Divix.

  • @ArkanumTheStrongest :D N1 has FM radio, it's not supported by Android, Desire has some HTC radio app I gues. Flash is comming also to N1, multitouch controller is better in Desire :D, no noise reduction haha, Sensi UI I don't like, stock N1 is much nicer, as for the HD video and DivX I don't know yet :D but that's just software that can be installed.

  • @mkrmec I aslo personally think that Desire is priettier than N1. It has physical buttons (yay :D) and optical trackpad, which only downside is that it doesn't glow.

  • @mkrmec And £180 pounds less than the Nexus,

  • OMG. It is AITCH. Not HAYCHHHHHH. k

  • 0:58 no pinching the home screen does not show you the apps running. it zooms out of all of your "home screens" what widget and app shortcuts and folders are at a glance.

  • Yeah, your right. Sorry about that. Wrong words slipping in to the right places.

  • I shouldn't have even said anything. I've been sick therefore in a bad mood this week. I'm sure there is a better way of saying that.

  • No problem, always better to make things clear

  • @setheroon1 to see all apps running just Long-press the Home button

  • @xelectriquex those are not necessarily running apps, just the most recently ran apps.

  • Its not essentially a step up, more of a move in a different direction - but keeping the same pace. You see, you're simply going to be getting Sense UI, hardware buttons, and an optical trackball. Thats it. Unless 67mbs of more RAM is something of desire to you.

If you root your Nexus One, you can also port the Sense UI over to it - which is being worked on now. The phone are essentially the same, and it all boils down to personal opinion.

  • @NarutoEclair trackpad*

  • Google...htc...is...amazing. When is it coming to the US?

  • never! ;)

  • R u sure?

  • US= Nexus one

    Europe and Asia= Desire

  • @bolqr

true. I'm waiting for Desire in UK :D

  • Comment removed

  • No DivX support and no 720p recording and yet you said this is a step up? lol

  • @vosszaa

For that I'm almost sure will have apps or updates from HTC the important thing is that the hardware allow support of 720p and DivX. HTC always listen what the customers wants.

I have only one issue against HTC in my country the prices of this device will be impossible for the people.
