  • anyone know where i can find more information on this type ornithopter?

  • It flies so elegantly!

    Very Cool.

  • tsubarashhiii,,,brilliantt...

  • amazing

  • THATS AWSOME!!!

  • I HAVE MAKE MY ONE ULTRA LIGHT PLAIN PROTOTIPE

  • HEY, LISTEN!

  • go back in time send this to leonardo da vinci we got are selves a cooler future

  • These would sell like hot-cakes if made available - quite beautiful

  • This is not like a dragonfly. a dragonfly is like a hlicopter abel to fly in all 3 dimentions. this is more like a giant butterfly only able to fly in 2 dimentions. but it is cool.

  • @Anden1990 bah, shut up smartass

  • @Anden1990 ...a line like from A to B is 1 dimention ..// a square surface for example A to B to C to D and back to A, but also a triangle A-B-C-A..that is 2 dimentions...// and a cube or a pyramide ,a sphere,a bar or a tube or cone those have 3 dimentions....there is more to it but this schould give you an idea of howe it works...so everything that flies is moving in a 3 dimetional environment....

  • O Jesus, son of Mary! Is thy Lord able to send down for us a table spread with food from heaven

  • thats awesome. ease mechanism... but how this reacts on wind?

  • Cool!! It's like a giant dragonfly!!!!!

  • is it rubber powered? and w00t nice work!!!!!!

  • About a hundred of these at the opening ceremony for the Olympics would be awesome!!!!

  • Wonderfull.!!!

  • Just great creation!... Thanks for sharing.

  • beautiful

  • the locists are comming aaah!

  • omg this is so epic!

  • Ok, I've watched and watched this video. The four wings are done by two spars, but how are they connected to the fuselage? I just need the name of the part. Could anybody clue me in?

  • @nopudding4you pause around 1:11. the wing mechanism is really simple, you can make one by splitting a bamboo skewer and putting a hole through the middle of them and mount them like an x

  • @nopudding4you watch?v=e3wWfKEdvpY&feature=related thatle help same wing mechanism

  • What a beautiful piece of engineering.

  • 静かで優雅な羽ばたき機

  • Now I don't speak very much Japanese but I'll give this a shot!

Sore wa hijō ni yoku tsukutte iru. Omedetō gozai masu anata no seikō no hikō shiken ni! =)

  • Congratulations. Thank you for posting this video.

  • Similar to Entomopter and ancient in concept by original mathematicians and inventors of early civilized man. Similar to some of the earliest attempts at aircraft also before modern helicopters. Similar to some of the original patents of helicopter. Super good demonstrator model by the young Asian enthusiasts. Ornithoputer? Its a mono- Entomopter like a mono-plane. Entomopter is more like a biplane but its a bi-winged-thoputer.

  • no way, how can it fly, i mean the wing look so slow...... it most have a very low weight....

  • This is like porn for ornithopter entusiasts

  • @forsalololo95 Orniporn maybe? ;-) It is just so beautiful

  • how did that fly?

  • @coopercrue small electric engine in the front side moves the wings.

  • awsomeness!!!!!

  • i won't hesitate to steal that ornithoputer from you... lol

  • how?

  • u could mod that to look like toruk makto from the movie avatar

  • That Ornithopter is awesome! I've seen many on here on YouTube and elsewhere, this one, is one of my favorites! So cool, thanks for posting this!!!

  • Incredible. thanks fro sharing...

  • Beautiful! I'd love to get the plans for some of these models.

  • weird at 2:10 couldnt this be fake

  • Just based on how it looks when it is flying - it does seem that it only has forward momentum, but the tail sags lower so that it aims slightly upward which also gives it lift. As you see from the video it is definitely higher as it flies longer, but doesn't seem that controllable. Very beautiful and fragile looking.

  • Hmm... It looks nice and flies nice, but it looks very delicate and hard to repair...

  • That is amazing, I would pay so much for this ornithopter.

  • Something ethereal about this wonderful flier.

  • it is very nice...but I see no means for positive air displacement. as with all ornithopters, the action of the wings are producing contradicting forces in both directions, incapable of lift. it is essentially a flapping glider, whereas the flapping only provides a forward momentum

  • @physiist777 it looks to me that the "wings" or "flaps" when pushed together squeeze the air and force it torwards the rear of the aircraft, creating forward thrust. thats why they only have a rigid stick thing at the front of the wing, so the rest is free to let air flow out of it. thats just my observation its hard to explain.

  • Madness is right. It works the same way a split prop on a pedaling kayak works or like the way a penguin's flippers work in both up and down motions. Not very many flying things have wings that only provide pure lift. Usually forward momentum is translated into lift by the wing, which normally creates a difference in air pressure above and below the wing.

  • to physiist777, you'r likely thinking air plain, where you should be thinking bird. the wings provide both thrust and lift, although the lift is not as efficient as a fixed wing. notes how it hits the wall above the level of the bball hoop "10 ft", a glider would not gain hight like that.

  • Bravo !

    Superbe machine !

  • yea yea next thing you know your gonna see those only 1000X bigger flying over U.S lol jk butt niceeeeeeeeee

  • Wow this is VERY neat. Beautiful watching it fly!

  • i was gonna build an ornithopter and i saw a bunch of ones that couldent fly so i was about to not do it but i clicked on one last vid and this amazing one inspired me THANKS.

  • Absolutely, unequivocably the most amazing flying machine I've ever seen. Why hasn't this received some sort of prize and funding??

  • Hypnotisingly beautiful. An inspiration to try and build one myself. Thank you for posting this!

  • Utterly sweet!

  • Great experiment...what is made the wing? Carbon fiber leave ?

  • i think its some kind of plastic or paper

  • The most elegant flying machine I have ever seen ! SUch a beautiful thing !

  • Who cares how they spell it or say it, this thing is cool!!

  • Stumble Non Fail

  • ornithoputer? isn't it just ornithopter?

  • its because the guy who wrote is japanese -.-

    give a break man

  • whoah, I never said it was because he can't spell. I just thaught it could have been my mistake. No need to be so hostile

  • sorry man..

    i am really regretful...

  • Don't worry about it, I was being harsh there :(

  • he deserves a huge break for designing this.

  • Actually such a typo is something you would expect from someone from japan. I think they really pronounce it that way over there :)

  • Yes, the Japanese often change foreign words slightly to fit in with how their language works. In this case, they add that U because in the Japanese language they never have a "P" followed by a "T". Unlike may other languages, they break up language into syllables, not individual sounds. Japanese ABC looks like this : A, I, U, E, O, KA, KI, KU, KE, KO, SA, SHI, SU, SE, SO and so on...

  • should be "MANY other", not "may other" hehe...

  • For those who are wondering it's powered by a thin rubber band. Beautiful craftmanship in this one.

  • how do i make one

  • theres no rubberband on thing one. theres wire and motor under the wing

  • What the fuck is powering this thing?

  • okay, that's cool!

  • Stunning. What an achievment!

  • superbe et féerique vol !

  • I think if they made one 4 underwater it would work just as fine

  • sick

  • flying like underwater japs food :) not bird :)

  • looks more like its swimming through the air, awesome

  • too good

  • now that is pretty frikkin fantastic. I love Japs!

  • あのひこきがちょうすごいでしょ!どもありがとうございますあなたのビデオわいいですね!

  • i love it

  • Holy Shit...this is just

    beautiful

  • i know its just really.... i cant explain it. i cant even see the motor though

  • A simple and amazing craft! It flies like poetry imho :)

  • i want one

  • sweeeet

  • if you think about it its so simple but it has to be light anough to fly

  • spelling and punctuation are important.

  • hehe look at u... besides its not important on youtube

  • It's important everywhere. What you learn on youtube, you will take with you elsewhere.

  • Thank you! Well stated.

  • my GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

    O.O

    hahahahha

    XD

    LOLZ

  • Thats beautiful!!!

  • i love this

  • Such a tiny motor, amazing how light that must be.

  • the motor is some gears and a rubberband

  • wow you don't know shit about this

  • thay could mass produce that and call it a butterfly

  • its so mesmerizing how slow it flies.

  • The orni makes a beautiful sound with its wings, but there is a loud micro-rc plane in the background!

  • what a pity :(

  • LOVE IT! ¨¨O

  • Thats cool!!! This is one of my favorite! You used the staggerred crank, right? I made also using the staggered crank but but i dont know what is the problem, they dont flap symmetrically.. will u pls help me define tha correct measurements. thanks!

  • that is neat - how long can it fly for?

  • clever :)

  • that is amazing

  • Wraith or dream-like it flys as if some giant silent moth. Very cool tyoukogatalabo-san.

  • i want to build one of these. can you tell me what material you used for the body, and explain about the acuator/lipo battery. are they just for the rudder? or do they control the wings. can you tell me what controls the wings if not that? please!!!

  • :) I like that!

  • that is so cool, I want to make one.

  • it looks bio mechanical,a true ufo,cool

  • すごい!

    生き物みたいですね

  • thats creepy

  • is it battery or rubber powered? please reply in ENGLISH...

  • that's so eerie...

  • soy Hugo Huayta me agrada mucho tu ornithopter se puede hacer uno con motorcito de juguete comun o es motor especial

  • Man, it definitely is almost like a living thing

    Like a big butterfly

Would like to know instructions for this, too.

  • wow! i want one of those for my birthday, they are cool!

  • Listen to the music, lol, makes it wicked!

  • lol isnt that the sounds of the other rc things flying around in that hall?? i think it is lol

  • well.. they are speaking Japanese...

  • What material is used for the wings? Does anybody have a url with more info?

  • I'll give you 2 doll hairs for one

  • This is poetic - almost spiritual. My deepest respect for developing this beautifull flyer.

  • awesome! what country is this?

  • japan, i think

  • That's amazing - where can I get a hold of one of these?

  • Spice extends life, expands consciousness.
