Such is not supported by the testimony of the crew. It seems, now, that you're simply pulling things out of your own ass.

The indication is they did not. Transcripts of UHF communications between the attacking planes and their controllers show that they were ordered to break off as soon as the pilots began reading English characters off the hull.

The US Navy Court found they did not. In addition to UHF communications (which indicate the Isrealis' confusion as to the ship's origin), there is the testimony of the Liberty's crew which describes how the Israeli boats had initially attempted to signal the ship but were fired upon by the gun mounts. After the torpedo struck, the boats milled off the stern with no further attack, whereupon they offered assistance. The whole thing lasted about 45 min.
