The distance between the water suface and sea bottom....is it really that close like in the video? I figured the Baltic would be much deeper than that?
My uncle was on the estonia. He said he saw her roll upside down and settle by the stern. She started trimming, and he sat on the bildge keel as she went down, and her bow rose a bit. He slid down the bottom of the ship and got into the water without even getting his hair wet. He saw the bow rise slightly, then disapear.
@DolkyGuy Nop emaanuel has right, The official report (that are totaly wrong about the cause of the accident) says that the ship turned to 20-30 degrees list and then turned over and sank in 20 minutes,Thats wy it lies on the side on the bottom of the baltic sea
@TheSwedishPatriot no he isnt every ship that has built like estonia goes down on upside down like star and superstar they would go upside down aswell
@DolkyGuy Well then its strange that passengers was climbing on the side of the ramp. And wich studies has u read from, if the estonia was sinking upside down it shouldnt sink in 20 min, cause the reason wy a ship roll around is that water i pressing the air out of the ship trough air vent, windows, open doors etc. But in the deck below waterline there are no such . Therefor it take time for the water to press out the air. It creates a air pocket=float jacket in the boat,
@DolkyGuy The water in the top of the boat is heavy and tip the ferry over, but it cant sink cause the air is keeping it up until the air finally leave the hull and she sinks

@dawg1157 This is pretty realistic because Estonia was 157 meters long and sank into a depth of 80 meters.
