:) sometimes me and my friends dance on street corners downtown. It's SO fun. We get some weird looks occasionally, but that makes it even better ;) we use pointe shoes that are old and dead, but not so dead that they're un-danceable. Usually find some online :)

@SmurfzRoxSox we dont have any good floors at my house to practice on exept my kitchin but its not wood so i use my old dead point shoes too :) what you and your friends do sounds fun! i dont have any friends that would do that with me cuz i DEFINATLY would :D

@laurenboren94 it is!!! SO MUCH FUN!! And we do it because it's awesome, not for the money, but the tips aren't bad either :) my city loves street performers! And it's a good way to get exposure and get used to dancing in front of people, so I'll be a little more ready for NYCB (lol please please please, let me get in!!!)

@laurenboren94 haha yeah (fingers crossed). I'm 13 right now, but I started when I was 3. And I've been en pointe since I was 8 (ouch). This year, I'm just taking classes and workshops in my city, and this summer I'm auditioning for JSB, but hopefully when I'm in high school, my mom'll let me take a K-12 online course, so I can study "abroad" (meaning in the country, not Europe... unfortunately). I just love this!!! I am 48 and just started taking ballet three months ago and I find myself doing "random act of ballet" all the time which is always such a pleasant surprise to discover I am doing things such as my Rond De James when I am cleaning by tub with my foot! Your parents probably won't like me much for telling you this...but...

ignore them. lol. This is your dream, and the more you practice, despite their embarrassment, the better you get...and someday...when you're dancing for the queen of england (haha..i know...random....) they'll be so proud they'll forget all their embarrassment. And if your happiness embarrasses them......it's worth it. Dont give up dance for anything in the world. :3 Have a good day!
