There has only been one single player beat em up with this level of depth and complexity this console generation. Just ONE! It's really getting difficult to stay interested, I live for these kinds of games but these days if you're not a man with a gun people are not interested.

Platinum Games are the only studio who have the knowledge and skill to create a game like this but Capcom will never have them handle any of their IP.

Man, Viewtiful Joe is one of the biggest badasses in capcom history. I can't wait to see what he'll do in Marvel vs Capcom 3. Although he isn't confirmed officially, I saw a silhouette of him in one of the trailers, so that must mean he'll be entering Marvel vs Capcom 3. How are you getting Viewtifuls without using any powers?

Once you dodge to stun, the combo starts. From here you have a set time limit in which you have to hit the enemy (to score Viewtifuls), each time you hit the enemy this timer is reset. The key is to gain as many Viewtifuls as possible using this dodge/attack method as possible before hitting SLOW. Once in SLOW, each enemy you hit will increase the multiplier by 1. Once you release SLOW the accumulated multiplier is applied to the Viewtifuls gained for the score total.

I just got unlimited VFX with Joe (after owning the game since the Christmas after its release), but I had a hard time with it since my playstyle wasn't like this. If I had trained myself to play more stylishly, it probably would have been less difficult to get rainbow-Vs (which is actually a pretty genius design decision).

The scoring system is great. I like the idea of the stage being split into small manageable chunks you are graded for individually. Many aspects of Viewtiful Joe return in Bayonetta.

The grading system there is the same bite-sized style, and you can freely play around with the character animation just as you could with Joe.

Another neat trick for near instant kills against flying enemies is this;

Once you launch an enemy at the thing - while still in slow rush in and ZOOM+hold PUNCH to strike the vehicle while the enemy and target crosshair are overlapping the object. Each time you strike with these punches you will take a ridiculous amount of energy off the vehicle. You can kill the 2nd Harrier for example in about 5 seconds!

Yeah - I suggest you ignore the missiles and concentrate on the V-Combo against the enemies. The trick in Viewtiful Joe is that enemies are your strongest weapon - hit the enemies AT the plane/tank/helicopter or whatever you're up against. So set up the enemies with dodges and as the flying enemy passes SLOW and launch the enemies AT it and it'll go down in seconds. *Remember kicks send enemies diagonally and punches vertical and horizontal depending on attack used.

You mean the axe breaks into "Pieces"? If so yes, but you don't get as many V-Points as the dodge + max strikes > Slow Multiplier combo setups. The point I'm constantly trying to stress in these videos is the combo system (as this hardly ever explained properly online), and how to setup each type for decent V-Points.
