Bob and Ray. Bob Eliot and Ray Goulding. They had a radio show, near the end of the genre, in the 50's. I was listening to this show, and it was one of the funniest things. It got me there. The show seemed sporatic, different time slots and lenghts. The last episode. They were playing stuff, interrupting with annoying commercials. A guy was flying in a chopper, talking about traffic. Who gives a fuch? Then he says "Just wanted to say Thanks Bob and Ray."
I loved the old Donahue show, he had world figures and national leaders and all sorts of people, then crap like Sally Jessie Raphael came on with transvestite dads who can't talk to their wives and junk, and Phil had to follow the circus to compete. I knew it was about over when the show started and he was standing there in a skirt. At that point I thought, this isn't a news interview show anymore, this is entertainment.
I am a conservative and I like phil very much for his views and the gentlmanly way in which he discusses his ideas. he is one of the view who really believe in what he is saying. not like alec who is now laying so low you can't find his hypocrital ass.
Think what the bush crowd did, they ripped Dan Rather out of his chair; they destroyed the Donahue show; and they gave us Riley the nutjob and kAtiE. Never mind all the dead soldiers; and for WHAT?
It is just to harsh to make such strong accusations. The too far liberals do not want to pay for freedom. The too far conservatives want too much. Did it ever occur to anyone that often there are compromises to be made. And the Olbermans' of the world are just to audacious and often too raw. It is distasteful and sometimes downright unAmerican. I loved Phil, love his wife and her work, but Phil often would not let people respond without running over them.
I think it takes a loudmouth to be heard over a loudmouth. Without Olbermann, the Limbaugh's and O'Reilly's of the world run unchecked. I'm of the opinion, that the only way to beat a bully, is to stand up to them.
Yes and no. Sometimes it makes sense to compromise. But when the government moves super far right as it has in the last 26 (and especially last 7 on foreign policy), compromise just means you're still not really *in the center*, it means you're center right. Going half way to Dick Cheney doesn't put you in a reasonable position, it just puts you in a slightly less crazy one.
Oh, good point! Everyone should only be allowed to give ONE interview to ONE show on any ONE topic. Anything more is a waste of time, and if you miss that one interview on that one show on that one topic, too bad, you're out of luck.

Look, if the 60 min guys can do that shit every week... Maybe a weekly show. Weekly shows are better in some ways. Put more thought into it.

The NeoCons are controlling YOU, this is 1984.
Watch loose change and zeitgeist. Open your eyes, and stop being coerced into WAR.
Why hasn't BUSH been impeached? Why hasn't the war stopped when everyone wants it to?
THINK ABOUT IT! watch loose change
