@lucent71 It really doesn't matter as long as he gets to do what he enjoys. Every musician has there own style to things, saying someone isn't being musical enough is not fair, that is probably how he liked it to sound. You could make your own video though, showing everyone your superior technique.
@lucent71 It's good to point out the flaws in this child's performance but hey, sometimes you guys forget that he's only a little boy that is working a lot to play like this, in addition, although he usually lacks of emotion -and I have to say that the majority of children have this lack-, technically plays better than some +18 teenagers that I've heard. And I'm pretty sure that neither Horowitz nor Liszt, in their early days, played as well as you demand from that guy. My advice: keep going!

Play all the phrases with equal musicality and you'll really have something. The ends of phrases are sometimes the most important.
A bit clumsy in the refrain, but I've got to admit: It was VERY brave of you to take one of Chopin's works. It really isn't uncomprehensible why they say, that a pianist who masters all his etudes can take on any piece! Do you take lessons? And if so, for how long have you been playing? :)

I do agree with Xantoine, but I also think this kind of piece really suits you! Your hands move elegantly around the keyboard. I think that this is the best performance of you that I have seen. I think that you are suited to the like of Chopin, much better than that of Beethoven.

is this piece hard? i wish play it... i can see your simplifications made in the left hand... try focusing more on your left hand during those huge runs... get the right hand part muscle memorized and then look at your left hand... but i thought it was terrific!!!
also if you live in the Miami area then you really need to goto frost school for young musicians at the university of Miami... thats where i go every summer.

Ben, you are doing quite well.
BUT :
You need to first work on some easier pieces in order to improve your technique .
You may hurt your fingers.
Try doing some mazurkas and easy preludes .I gurantee you that you will be a great pianist but you need to be more patient.

Hey, LilBen, back again to check on your progress...which is substantial since you joined YT, of course. Liked the Nactmusik piece, too. Sounds great with the orchestration. Couldn't believe the Sub box hadn't been clicked so I did. Now I'll be ready when that first original of yours with full orchestration hits. Hopefully, I'll be able to score that first comment. LOL

Many can play the notes. Some can get the tempo right. Few can do it in a truly original fashion that makes it their's. Remember that!

i may seem rough, but kid, you what eleven-twelve? your playing music that most people would give their left leg to play. and im critizizing you on way adult level
when you get as good as you are, for me at least, practice the choppy parts a little more before you put it on youtube, play it really smoothly first.
