poor Anne, this music and the moment she was a little girl makes me want to cry, i am glad that i am not part of the royalty and i do not live in the court. I do not want to lose my head....
So because she was a bitch she deserved to die? Wow that means that at least half of the girls in this world deserve to die because everyone can be a bitch sometimes..including me :)
@FurWiGi the King tired of her and the fact that she hadn't been able to give him a son. King Henry was very fickle.... Went from one wife to another with barely a good reason...
@FurWiGi She failed to produce a male heir which made Henry paranoid about house tudors losing the crown due to the fact that the tuders weren't the rightful dissendents of England's monarchy (the Plantagenet line was) so everything him and his father had worked for would be gone if he failed to produce a male heir.
Ppl need to leave her alone. I feel bad for, and respect KOA but it was clear (if you guys study history and not tv shows) that Henry's first marriage was over long before Anne showed up. And although I love Anne, I also understand why Henry was obsessed with a son. His father came to power in a civil war. Henry was afraid if he died with no male that a girl would lead to more war. He figured "if I cut off this head thousands more will keep theirs later". I hope they're all resting in peace.
This is heartbreaking, but Anne had been forewarned by Katherine of Aragon who point blank told her that Henry would tire of her as he had tired of all the others. I guess Anne, like so many women even in these times, thought she could change Henry by promising him something that she could never give: a son (which was not her fault entirely, of course)... If only her ambition and pride had not been so strong, she might have lived.
The French king warned her, too. What amazed me was her shock and hurt when he started messing around with other women. Women that help tear down another woman's home with no remorse are always shocked when it happens to them. What he did WITH you,he'll do TO you. I think Henry would've killed her, even if she had a son. She was a political liability at home and abroad. He also had a perfect scapegoat to blame for all of his unpopular behavior.
@Katherinelove100 The short story is that Henry was desperate to have a son and when Anne failed to deliver on her promise of giving him a son, he tired of her and so off with her head (he ditched his first wife Katherine of Aragon for Anne for her failure to deliver a son). Of course, there are other factors, but too much detail to go into on Youtube, LOL!
@Katherinelove100 Your welcome! Henry was a real twisted piece of work and I feel sorry for all of the women who crossed his path (feel sorry for some of the guys, too, LOL!)...
can someone please explain to me the meaning behind this scene? I love it so much, is the writer trying to say in a haunting way, that she was always meant fot this fate??? please someone explain!!!
Does anybody know what the name of the track is when in season 2 ,episode 10 those ladies sing in church and henry screams at them 'ENOUGH' ? it's at the beggining ...
This scene somewhat redeemed Thomas Boelyn in my eyes. (emphais on Somewhat) He was so evil and vindictive, and that line of his when Brandon told him that he was to be released from teh tower before Annes Execution:" Does this mean I get to keep my earldom?" I just wanted to throw my computer across teh room!! At least this showed that there was once something good about him.
In The Tudors I have always been a supporter of Catherine of Aragon, but whenever I watch this scene (combined with the wonderful score by Trevor Morris) I have to cry because it makes me so very sad and emotional...I don't think that Anne, her brother and the other three men deserved to die. Of course Henry wanted to get rid of her just like some toy he got tired of... cruel. And the people shouldn't blame Jane Seymour or his wives in general but rather Henry himself as he had all the power!!
In my opinion it is the sadest scene of her yes her execution was sad to but this scene is so sad her father didn't halpe her and she knows that she is going to die so she remembered the god times really sad :(
I do not think her execution was the saddest or anything else but the part where her younger self is picked up by her father! Honestly, I balled like a baby because it shows a time where her life WAS at peace and all was merry. She would rather remember when her father loved her like that than when he was walking away and did nothing when she was looking down at him in the tower. Ahh, I applaud the director for this!
This is the producer's take on Anne's last night. By all contemporary accounts Anne Boleyn loved her little daughter very much and surely she was not far from her mind. I once read somewhere she allegedly said 'who will care for my little girl' or something along those lines.
This is a really haunting scene, going back to her happy childhood, it was filmed so well. She lost her brother, her father walked away from her and she lost her life. And what an actress, she portrayed the death with such dignity, excellent
Actually her father did not walk away from her: he was one of the persons who were part of her lawsuit. He didn't help her when her sister-in-law, Jane Rochford, charged her with incest! HE DID NOT HELPH HER, bastard he was! ARGH! And because of that I get so angry when I see this scene - this whole thing with love of a father and nice childhood days - hey, HE LET HER DIE WITHOUT HELPING HER, whithout doing anything for her or his son or their honor! What a nice father.
Yeah but why would this scene make you angry? It adds more to anne's suffering. It makes it more sad because the way her father used to be and now what he has become.
The point is it adds more to the Natalie's character or Anne's POV because she is sad that her father left her. She remembers him by these memories not the ones when he left her.
@LoveSoundtracksGirl i think Anne of the tudors is remembering her childhood when she was so innocent and how could her father betray her when she loved him so much she's thinkin how could he turn on me when we had good times together not bad she smiles at the good times and remembers them with humbleness and her good heart you can see it in her face
There's a lot of symbolism in this scene..the one thing I noticed that has always given me chills, was when George would say "Anne, he'll get you"..made me think of how her father betrayed her in the end, and how ambitious and cold he would become when Anne was an adult.
