Standardized oregano oil ( 70 % + carvacrol ) was the only substance that cured my throat and vocal chord issues and severe sinus problems. Although I agree I must admit that the exact oregano oil (if not better) can be purchased at a fraction of the cost at a variety of places online. Just make sure the oil of oregano is 100% organic, mixed with cold pressed olive oil, contains minimum 80% carvacrol & is priced fairly :) Many purchase from oreganooil(dot)com(dot)au but you can purchase anywhere & save!

@TekkGnostic I agree. This sort are all in with the drug company crew and their ideals. You now need to pay 80-120 grand to verify that your herb is meeting their standards for "safety." Because of the dangers of free will, we now no longer have the right to choose a cheaper and more pure health supplement to stock up on, or even kill ourselves with, 'Cause we then don't benefit from antidepressants for drug addictions, anti-biotics for yeast problems and paranoia, beta blockers for anxiety...

I'm a very skeptical person, & my natural inclination would be to dub this stuff "snake oil"/placebo.

However, from experience I know oil of oregano works against most things it claims to be able to. When I was about 11 years old, I often stayed at an Italian friend's house after school, & for a period of time I was extremely sick with a cold that would not get better, and bronchitis. My friend's Italian grandmother got fed up with me and chased me with a spoonful of this horrid stuff.

After she successfully cornered me & jammed it into my mouth, I felt like gagging, but the next day I felt much better. I did not have any oregano oil again until I got extremely sick again in college, & inquiring about it from my friend, I bought a vial (expensive) & again, I recovered from a cold, this time just as I felt it coming on.

It has also helped me purge warts better than CompoundW, and get rid of acne. Inhaling its vapours helped keep my bronchitis in check.

I've never tried this against fungal infections or venom, but besides combatting the common cold, warts, acne & bronchitis, I've tried this against food poising/stomach flu, & again, besides the initial inclination to gag/hurk this horrid stuff out, I got better in half an hour.

I highly recommend this stuff, provided that you get a good brand of it. Joy of Mountains brand worked for me, whereas EnergeX brand didn't, nor did capsules. Apparently it isn't just the carvicol content

@DThompson1985 - there are plenty of double blind studies to be found. Google: carvacrol double blind studies. YouTube won't allow links or I'd provide them for you. You have to understand that in order to search for scientific studies the researchers don't use the term "oregano" they use the active ingredient(s). While you are at it, Google: Effects of carvacrol upon the liver of rats undergoing partial hepatectomy functions.

You can't buy this at walmart, and even if you could it probably wouldn't be the real deal. They'd have some knockoff oil, and you gotta get the real thing. You have to go to a natural health store, and this oil costs a lot. I paid 55$ for a small bottle its like 50 mL.
