  • ILLEGAL PITCHES!! NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE

  • You're good! Don't listen to anybody saying you're not. It is an illegal pitch because both feet have to be touching the rubber but it's no problem to fix. Keep on pitching! I can tell that you have speed and it looks very accurate!

  • ILLEGAL! Her back foot is a good 4 inches away from the mound u have to have it on or they will call it on u... And it could be bad

  • @TheSoftballover33 I SAID THAT ALSO

  • thanks guys

  • U can't even c where the ball goes

  • u are amazing we r the same age and i hope if we both get on college teams we could play each otha u r soo great best of luck :)

  • yu have to start but yu can take a step backwards and pitch

  • regardless of all the illegal talk......she looks great! nothing illegal here. people are ridiculous sometimes. i think they just want to hear themselves talk, or in this case, watch their written word. lol. My kid is a 14u pitcher for the Worth Firecrackers, went to Nationals in IL last summer.....was hot as hell. AJ looks like a typical 12U travel pitcher from sourthern California; not a big deal with the talent, but that means nothing. keep up the great work; Div. 1 is in your grasp.

  • ADVISE - Check with YOUR league rules, as they can differ depending on the sanctioning association in regards to the back foot and if it needs to be in contact with the pitching rubber as well as whether a step backwards is permitted.

  • ASA and the USSSA have conflicting rules on starting position of the rear foot, and backward step:

    (1) ASA rules for girls states that the rear foot must be on, or touching against, the rubber, and NO backwards step permitted.

In the ASA rulebook, Section 1, C.2 states:

"Both feet must remain in contact with the pitching plate at all times prior to the forward step."

  • You do not need to start with both feet on the rubber in High School... Check your leagues rules, but lower levels do not have to have both feet on the rubber.

  • looks good.

  • no, pitch if fine!! Good Job!

  • illegal pitch

  • How can you say it is illegal, in what respect.

She is not crow hopping and both feet are starting on the pitching rubber. She is not replanting etc...

Keep up the hard work A.J., your motion looks fine.

    Coach Heather

  • @stemcellsrock both feet are not starting on the rubber but everything else looks good.

  • @x3MisterCrayon

You do not need to start with both feet on the rubber in High School... Check your leagues rules, but lower levels do not have to have both feet on the rubber.

  • @stemcellsrock Actually you do need to start with both feet on the rubber. I think you should double check your rules too.

  • @x3MisterCrayon

ASA Rules state you must start with both feet on the rubber, but other leagues such as high school, only requires the front, push off foot to be on the rubber.

I coach High School and Tournament Softball. I also am a pitching instructor. I instruct to start with both feet touching the pitching rubber because in College, both feet must touch the pitching rubber, but depending on the league or level this pitcher pitches for, the rules may be only the front foot.

  • @x3MisterCrayon

    (2) The USSSA allows for a pitcher to either take a backward step, or have the stride foot behind the pitching rubber when she starts...DOES NOT have to be touching the rubber:

"Prior to the pitch, the pitcher shall take a position with: (1) the pivot foot on or partially on the surface of the pitcher's plate; (2) the non pivot foot in contact with, or behind the pitcher's plate.

  • @x3MisterCrayon actually yu dnt have too!!!
