oh yeah i forgot we had rails. after school there was a kid and he tried skateboarding knowing that there were rails and like he flow off the board and i think his head cracked open. but there was blood. it was crazy
This is cool to see. I knew Frankford back in junior high at Goleta Valley. He used to skate my mini ramp and we would all go to skate jams at grade schools around town. Launch ramps + backboards = bad ace wall rides....
what frankie lacked in professional skating talent, he made up for by just throwing his board out, hoping it spins or slides on something, and trying to land it no matter what. lol inspiring to see how far raw determination can get you. gotta love the frankford
It was crazy, because the session before this on the banks with Guy and Grabiel was equally inspiring, but Frankie just had this crazy determination and he would put his hands down, toes down, whatever, just to land it, then throw his hands up, he was stoked.
frankies parts in the powel videos would always amp us up bigtime to go skate. cause he was just like a shot out of a cannon, and his determination made us be more determined, he really was inspiring, its a shame her hurt his leg
This is pretty incredible to watch. These guys were like what.. 15 or 16 years old? They were basically inventing these tricks as we're watching this. His career was brief, but Frankie Hill's part in "Ban This" totally changed skating forever, because of tricks like this.
It was during the Quartermaster Cup at the Powell warehouse. I went out filming with Guy, Gabriel, Frankie, Frank H and others... never got used for anything.
You're lucky, having been friends with them. I was similarly friends with Mullen way back then, but obviously that wasn't as a peer of any sorts. Plus he was older than me.
only frankie hill could get away wit skating wit a part in his hair gabriel rodriguez was alot better than many of us will ever know where is hirata now?
Interesting to see what happened to these guys. Gabriel was definitely ripping the hardest back then. Hirata skates around venice beach a bit. He is ripping harder than ever and with some serious flow. He is a beautiful, healthy man.
Frankie Hill's part in Celebrity Tropical Fish was SO sick.

I don't see how Frankie Hill became pro being such a sketchy rider. Most of his tricks end with a power slide of some sort. Never a clean ride out.
