Which Guild Wars 2 Character should you play? The Ranger

GUYS!!!! , rangers in gw2 is gona be so fucking awesome.. its like in pvp u can set a fire ..roll back and shoot arrows through it and will get on fire.. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , but wat i wanted to kno is if the pet of the ranger can actually were armour.

ranger is the class im least interested in, just looks less interesting than all the other professions...looks dull, and i could just be a warrior with a bow, and could be just as good as a ranger with a bow...so..yeah

@Amelia2050 dont be a ranger. if you end up getting close to an enemy you cant do anything. i think you should go with an elementalist cuz of the area of effect spells that can kill a bunch of enemies before they can even get to u, + they have spells theat kill everything in a 360 degree radius

I Heard ranger were pretty weak in GW1 and will be the same in GW2 and also the pet system was a bit messed up, like they died way to fast also in pvp you seemed to be at the most disadvantage almost all of the time from the vids i have seen (correct me if iam wrong?)

@MrFrostbite4 yeah your kind of wrong in GW1 rangers have these disrupt shots that can really mess up a elementalist easily and also before Anet patched it you can use spikes and it deliver very heavy damage so the rangers are not really bad

@MrFrostbite4 GW1 Rangers were a bit of a niche, but not bad. There is nothing to say they will be the same in GW2, and in fact, Anet have been drilling into us that all classes will be able to cover more ground, so that groups have more flexibility with who they want to include, as opposed to the system most MMO's, and indeed GW1, used which was "we need x amount of tanks, healers, and ranged" and you had to cover those bases or your team would fail. Im sure rangers will be great in GW2!

@MrFrostbite4 There is still work to be done, and the GW1 Ranger was not weak in any way. Rangers are a jack of all trades; proficient all around the board. People who don't know how to use a ranger think they're weak.

Many people playing the Ranger are idiots, they like to stand around shooting arrows and spamming the same move over and over again. The way you play Rangers in ANY game is to move around and stay a certain length away, not just stand near the enemy.

The reason I'd rather be a ranger then a thief is cause as a thief I can't see them beating a warrior but i can see a ranger totally pwning a slow warrior too busy fighting your pet to realize you are the one to worry about.

I will probably be making a Norn Ranger, I like having pets and as Norn I will be able to turn myself into a creature too :) So fighting along side my own pet to me = epic. :P

They say that u can assist someone in higher lvl by get into the same lvl or in the other way round. but if you stop playing with a guy that is higher lvl,u will turn back into your originally lvl.... and not get any xp out of it?

Im probably going for Necromancer, but I thought of going elementalist because I thought it would be a healing class... tho there won't be any healers or tanks in gw2. However what are the remaining 2 proffesions that havn't been revealed yet, any thoughts?

Yeah Pets will have their own abilities and slots which they unlock through their evolution levels (5 10 15 20 etc)

@GungWu2 I played the Ranger at Euro Gamer in London and I have to say it was lacking in epicness compared to the other professions, especially with the pet dying and having to be manually res'd every 2 minutes as it kept dieing all the time, they have said from what I see on GW2 Guru forums that they are re doing the ranger and the pet stuff so hopefully it is going to be even more improved before closed beta. Don't believe an beta scams that are out there until Arena Net say so themselves.
