  • I just love this scene. It makes you realize that what a good friend Ben Affleck is (sorry i forgot his name in the movie!!); He'd rather never see Will ever again and not have a single fun moment with him again, if it meant that he was out there making a good life for himself. That's true brotherhood right there. That's true love. :')

  • ben affleck's like "whoa, shit just got real"

  • I love this scene.

  • She's not as lucky as me to have you in my life. Wow. I'm a lucky bastard.

  • lucky girl...

  • That scene was what made me decide to travel straight across America, from coast to coast. That was back in 99. Guess its time to go. Im not getting any younger....

  • I tear up without fail whenever I watch this.

  • Fucking jewss, sorry i just wanted to curse

  • If you don't take risks, then you can't gain! Simply put, I'd rather be that dude that tried and failed then that dude that never tried. And this makes me :)

  • sorry I had to go see about agirl!!!!!!!

que buena frase una de mis peliculas favoritas

  • That is a Damon good mov....I mean damn good movie!

  • Still makes me tear up after all these years...

  • Looks like the houses of my youth!

  • I'm form Mombasa Kenya, and I absolutely love this movie.

  • I wish the ending showed that crap Nova car burst into flames on the freeway with Will being burned alive!

  • @gopconservative78 make it a little more obvious you're trolling bro

  • @thethursdaykindaguy Matt Damn is a douche........

  • @gopconservative78 You're a douche.

  • Just finished watching this film.... 20 minutes ago... It really made me want to do so many things, and god i'm going to do them! lol.

  • An absolute gem of a film .

  • Just because of this ending, I watched the whole movie again!

    Amazing movie.

  • The best final scene ever

  • i thought the song "afternoon delight" was played at the end of this....hmmm

  • At 2:16 ,look to the left of Morgan and you'll see some camera guy standing.

  • goosebumps

  • The little corner-of-the-mouth smirk Ben Affleck gives here is the best acting he's ever done.

  • 0 dislikes, thats what im talkin about!

  • Love this movie. Ben and Matt are amazing together, you can tell why they're best friends. This is such an amazing movie. I know it sounds corny, but I love how it shows the power of friendship. Chucky loves Will, but is willing to let him go because he knows that Will is too good for the south side. Honestly, in that sense, it reminds me of the Outsiders. But with WAY better actors and a WAY better screenplay.

  • im gonna be honest, i dont see that car making past ohio

  • Robin Williams improvised his last lines here. He also improvised a few other scenes.

Talent like that shouldn't be allowed. =/

  • I never realized at 2:16, you can see two crew members on the left hand side. Found that out at imdb.com

  • @09irishwarrior haha, although easily played off as a neighbor watching them with suspiscion

  • 0 dislikes makes me think there may still be some rational people in this world

  • The look on Ben's face & body language EVERYTHING makes this Scene So POWERFUL!!! He is so AMAZED & PROUD his friend took his advice knowing he is doing what he should be doing, taking full advantage to make the very best for his life. Yet, as he takes a deep breath holding back tears he wonders, WILL I ever see my BEST FRIEND again?

  • @MyPelee Exactly. Ben's best moment on film. Perfect scene in a great movie.

  • @MyPelee Couldn't agree more, definately Ben Afflek's best moment in the movie. You can see every thought going through his head. Brilliantly played.

  • One of the Very Best Movies of our Time! Not One but Two Geniuses:) "Real Loss is only possible when you love something more than you love yourself ".

  • Man Matt Damon and ben affleck are geniuses for writing this and acting the whole thing themselves.

  • i love elliott smith and this movie.

    -3

  • top five

    1. good will hunting

    2.the shawshank redemption

    3.memento

    4.pulp fiction

    5.its a wonderful life

  • ;) i remember that it was a great x3 movie with brilliant castings & soundtracks<3...i must watch it again (;

  • god dammit i cry every time!

  • this scene is incredible. blew me away

  • this scene is absolutely incredible......when he finds out hes not there he knows Will listened to his advice and has left.....he stands there for a second at the door and feels heart broken that he wont see his get to see his best friend anymore for hes moving on to greater things that he quite simply could only dream of doing yet at the same time hes so happy for Will that he finally is reaching his full potential and smiles.......such a powerful scene

  • yes this scene in a way doesnt fit cause of the car i undrestand that but thanks to the oops i saw that generation and looking for gaffes and flaws we harp at it this is how i look at it just let the ending stand for what it is their poetry in it :P

  • Robin Williams, man of men.

  • I hope will is good at fixing cars because I wouldn't attempt a drive across the country in that piece of shit without my toolbox in the trunk.

  • @darrylsh hear it had a brand new crate 350 in it

  • @darrylsh that nova was made IN AMERICA i would have no quams about driving it 3000 miles.

  • @a1stooge don't mean to be unpatriotic or whatever but everyone and their mom knows that american cars are notoriously unreliable. If you want a reliable car, you buy Toyota or Honda. That's why my family cars are 1987, 1990, and 1996 toyotas. all past 200k miles. can you say the same about your american cars?

  • @a1stooge I would still take my toolbox. It was pretty much an old beater that his buddies gave him. Shit happens to even the best of cars.

  • @darrylsh well nothing is going to happen to the engine thats a straight 6 250.

  • @a1stooge those old sixes ran forever but it's the rest of the car i'd be worried about but like any old car and i've owned a few, yah gotta have faith in the old beast and treat it well and with some luck it returns the favor...

  • Y'know, the 1 inconsistent fact about the last Ben Affleck scene that always hits me when i watch...Matt now has his own car,so why is does he need to go there to pick him up??I know it's a call-back to the scene when they're at work..."if you're still here 20 years from now i'll fuckin' kill ya"...but ,as we know,he has his own car now...

  • @toobularbells It's probably both a habit and a group thing. It's more fun to carpool with friends to go anywhere than it is to take two cars. You get conversation in the car, for one thing.

  • @Callypso73 yes, however,Ben throws his arms up in a "dunno-where-he-is" kinda way,& yet the car they've just bought him is gone.I know Ben plays a 'neanderthal' is this one,but hes smarter than that..."aaaaaallegedly" lol

  • @toobularbells i think the car was for him to get to his new job. He was still in the routine of going out with his boys so i think they still would pick him up....id hate to play a game of i spy with you

  • @Turk435 yes, however,Ben throws his arms up in a "dunno-where-he-is" kinda way,& yet the car they've just bought him is gone.I know Ben plays a 'neanderthal' is this one,but hes smarter than that..."aaaaaallegedly" lol

  • @toobularbells haha agreed. good eye

  • This was my film in high school. It's my number one film in case I died.

  • im in love with a girl too :D

  • @TheCocoabaker is she hot and sexy?

  • @TheCocoabaker bully

  • Nice tags.

  • @saidinjest xD just realized that. Eh, too lazy to fix.

  • Zero dislikes, I think that speaks for itself.

  • he's wearing a red sox jacket!

  • oh man, such a great ending with a perfectly fitting song.

  • Why doesn't he just buy a plane ticket instead of driving cross country for a piece of meat?

  • @TheNewRiflemanBob you've apparently never lived in south boston...

  • @obeseobelisk88 just because there are no airports in south boston he could have taken a bus to a location where there are planes. So why did he still drive cross country?

  • @TheNewRiflemanBob yea that's what I meant...because there were no airports. It's an extremely poor area dumbass

  • @obeseobelisk88 oh so I'm a dumbass for thinking about driving to a place where there are airplanes instead of driving the whole way by car. Ya that makes a lot of sence -_-

  • Love this song, but it's so out of place in this scene.

  • Does anyone else think there should be a sequel?

  • @johnnycash02 Hmm "Good Will Hunting 2:The Search for Skyler" and considering that they wont have aged a bit....idk.

  • @johnnycash02 Nope

  • perfect....

  • such a soulful movie!

  • fking love this movie -.-

  • this song is amazing all round and goes so well with the movies ending...rip elliott, u deserve the world.

  • i'm gonna watch this tonight..been way too long, defininitely in my top 5 fav movies.

  • Its not your fault.

  • Just watched the movie again for the first time in about a year, wow. Still so good.

  • @NextToBest

    try frantic 1988

  • "son of a bitch, stole my line"

  • :) :))

  • Boston to Cali, that's a long fuckin' drive.

  • My favorite movie. Period.

This was the first movie I ever stayed and watched the credits for. Three guesses why.

  • funny how the wind instrument (tin whistle or whatever it is) in this sounds exactly like the piece of shit song that MISS MISERY lost to. fuck titanic. people choose to nominate those fake dramatized emotions which makes em believe they actually know something about the "real" titatnic which the lame song and film have nothing to do with. rather than choosing this original piece of emotion and genuine art, people would rather have fiction and lies, i guess people relate more to that than TRUTH.

  • the movie is so similar to the artist

  • Amazing movie with an amazing artist.

    What could be better?

  • anyone who can say they don't like Elliott Smith has never had a true emotional connection to music. If you had you'd understand how amazing of a person he was.

  • they cut the shit outta his song man, they cut out a whole verse

  • the best scene from the movie - beats even the bar scene.

  • This is the best movie I have ever scene.

    From Japan

  • i like how your name is choose your fortunes and your from japan.

  • fortune coookies!!! heheh hahaha

  • @chooseyourfutures Lol its one of my favorite movies too, but my best movie is from your country : )

  • This movie ment a lot to me...

  • snow patrol !!! are you joking!! elliott smith was a far superior songwriter/singer and bloke than the whole of snow patrol put together...fucking irish twats

  • I agree, but snow patrol i nice lads. Dont bitch about people you dont know personly.

  • can you tell me what is the name o the song after Elliott Smith's? (the second ending song)

  • I think it's afternoon delight, not sure who sings it.

  • @NextToBest The name of the band is called the Starland Vocal Band

  • @NextToBest It is, and it's sung by the Starland Vocal band (Number One in the US, Number 18 in the UK in 1976).

  • Afternoon Delight by Starland Vocal Band - it was their one and only big hit as a group.

  • @yoblive afternoon delight by the starland vocal band

  • are you serious? really, is this a joke? This is my FAVORITE MOVIE! you HAVE TO watch it! please, you'll love it!

  • wicked pissa! :)
