Have any tips on how to do multiple backward/rear hops quickly?

I think you have to press Jump (button C lightly then quickly pull the Directional Stick away or Up+Away diagonally quickly)

I haven't had much luck on getting multiple rear hops and jumps to work consecutively.

After the 2nd time, my character ends up turning around a lot.
