@MrJarbuckle The trainers in the US will help him develop. He's a great passer but it's going to take time before we will even here him being considered an All Star. Plus he's going to have to get stronger because the NBA depends so much on Athleticism and Strength.

I think it doesn't matter if he has played in spain and "struggled" because Jennings struggled to produce amazing numbers in Europe and he has been very good in the NBA. Rubio's great passing will fit in great with the Wolves and they will be much improved because they already have scorers but no passers.

How is America no longer dominating the sport? Of the 20 best players in the world, probably 15 of them are American. We won the 2008 Olympics. We won the 2010 World Championships. And with Kevin Durant, Lebron James, Derek Rose, etc, we should continue to win consistently.

One of the reasons why some European players don't last in the NBA is the lack of credit they are given. They have to work twice as hard to succeed, to be given a few minutes on the court (e.g. Rudy Fernandez had a great rookie season but was still mostly a bench warmer). NBA coaches aren't very keen of European players, they simply don't respect their kind of game...
USA is the best, no question about it, but Europeans feel they should get more credit by the US than they do...

We've heard the athleticism vs. skill debate over and over here, but offense aside, what about defense? Everyone seems to forget, but in the long run players are limited in success by defensive ability. Look at every great in NBA history, they were AT LEAST a very good defender.

One of the reasons why some European players don't last in the NBA is the lack of credit they are given. They have to work twice as hard to succeed, to be given a few minutes on the court (e.g. Rudy Fernandez had a great rookie season but was still mostly a bench warmer). NBA coaches aren't very keen of European players, they simply don't respect their kind of game...
USA is the best, no question about it, but Europeans feel they should get more credit by the US than they do...

Its obvious to everybody that he's just average in the NBA and thats why he's on the bench. the problem for most European players is most NBA teams have plenty of Depth.

We've heard the athleticism vs. skill debate over and over here, but offense aside, what about defense? Everyone seems to forget, but in the long run players are limited in success by defensive ability. Look at every great in NBA history, they were AT LEAST a very good defender.
I see no evidence of defensive ability here, apart from the odd easy steal. Would he become a defensive liability? I can already see this guy's ankles getting broken... (He's like a Steve Nash with worse shooting)

R.Rubio plays in the ACB since he was 14 (ACB is the strongest league in Europe, the Spanish). Forget Milicic and the Hemofarm (lol) think about Stojakovic (from PAOK, great team), Marc Gasol and Pau Gasol, for example (you talk about Milicic we can talk about Gasol+Gasol +Calderon +Stojakovic +Nowitzki +Bargnani -not great yet but with skills- and a lot more).

@anrew1997 Hi, well you are right there. His scoring is low, too low, he has to improve the shot and have confidence to take it. But the logic is wrong. Jennings averaged 7.6 points for Lotomatica Roma in 16 Euroleague games. Look at his NBA numbers. Now if you said the same thing "Jenning can't do anything in the NBA if his numbers in Europe are that low", how wrong would you have been about that?
But Ricky needs to go soon, to learn NBA B-Ball, as I see it.

Euro fans know NBA and world BB, NBA fans only know NBA. Two Barcelona players went to the NBA this year, Ilyasola and Anderson, and the team is better without them. Lorbek is more complete. No team in NBA east can shoot from the outside like Barcelona, with Navarro, Lakovic, Basile. Plus Ricky's handling.
FC Barcelona, with 1/3 the salary budget, would rival for playoffs in NBA East, no doubt. Team play. A rival for the Pistons, Raptors or Bulls, with the best record in Europe 2009-10: 32-3.
