Actually MJ did die in bed, the doctor(that killed him) came back into MJ's room and found him not breathing and no pulse, so he started CPR. about an hour later, the paramedics were called. Since the DR would NOT pronounce MJ'S death, they transported him to the hospital where he was then pronounced dead. ILUVMJMOST is correct. the reports are MJ was dead at home in bed.

I believe Janet when she says she smiles to use it as a shield because I do the same thing. People would always give me grief about it since I was a little girl. I would smile or sometimes laugh when I became nervouse. It's a way of keeping your emotions inside and preventing yourself from crying. She probebly mentioned it because she didn't want people to think that she didn't care about her brother. I don't think the family should have to cry in public to prove anything to anyone.

First let me say...I love Janet and she can do no wrong in my eyes. That being said, she did seem to be doing more than just smiling, she seemed to be "glowing" at some points during the interview. She did not "smile" during her painful expression of her own past memories. Also, she would not finish sentences and let the interviewer finish them for her...I can accept this as part of the grieving process; however, what about when she paused when talking about the Dr.? Sometimes smiling brings out a bout of nervousness, a lot of people tend to smile when they are nervous and as for the difficulty in saying that he was no longer alive,

The reason shes point it out is to show she isn't being insensitive by smiling.

Another difficulty when it comes to adjusting to a loved one dying saying the word dead .. or referring to them as not being alive, is very hard.
