Easier way to make the eye, is polymer clay :D

Instead of drawing on a highlights, using a translucent glaze like the ones people that make deco art use would make for a more natural highlight, cause it makes things look moist.

I'm not sure what those acrylic glazes are called though... But I could find out.

And for a more realistic red vein effect, what I saw this doctor who makes eye prosthetic do was he took thin red thread and brushed them into the glaze near the corners of the eyes. :)
