  • The humming is way crazy...maybe you should kill the sound on this video...But the tank is way cool, although it doesn't look like 1500 gal...

  • i hade an indoor tank with turtles! but we cude not ceep it cuse the 300 doller filter went KAAAA BOOM! but nice vidoe man!

  • 00:38 , it is a flowerhorn ? ; )

  • arowanas look like they have under bites

  • Amazing tank!! Wish my 20 gallon was this cool lol

  • it looks sorta crowded :\

  • looks like a cage to me.

  • thats amazinggggggggggggggggggg

  • do i hear somebody making a dead baby joke become reality

  • nice pond and collection of fish

  • That is awesome my friend.

  • is that a bird screaming?

  • Very cool! I am definitely jealous!

  • bullshit die armen fische was bist du für ein tierqäuler das becken ist VIEL VIEL ZU KLEIN für die fische

  • besides camares pick up noise that people can not here

my camera gets a annoying buzz when i flim but we here no such thing in the house ever

  • I LOVE THIS

  • what was that noise

  • This is a amazing set up.and it is great that you can give them the space some one els cant. It is a dream that is coming thru for me as wel. I have a question. I am kind of busting my bals about what kind of filtration i need 2 put in. I am thinking about a beadfilter. If you have any tips fore me it will be greatly apriciated.

( sorry about the the spelling) :-)

  • i have a paku in a 100 gallon tank didnt think he was gnna get that big need a new home for him email me at vino_hernandez@live.com any one with a home big enough he is a little over 2 feet long help

  • whats that other noise besides the pump? is that a cockatoo?

  • @TheFreshPeddler Sounds like a billy goat.

  • @her209 - pretty sure its some form of parrot. ive lived with a cockatoo that makes a similar albeit more annoying sound. sounds like someone whacked it with something after which is what you want to do if you live with one

  • Your aquarium is spectacular!

  • That is amazing! Imagine something like that filled with just tropical community fish :D

  • Has your arowana ever jumped out?

  • how do you clean that and how often?

  • that is BEAUTIFUL!

  • this has got to be the best decorated Aquarium in the world.

  • i don't know what's making the noise but it ruins the Sanctuary... you should correct the problem...

it's too beautiful to have that noise...

  • You see thats why no one does what I do. The fish don't care about a noisy old air pump. It's thier sanctuary not mine.

  • did they tell you that?

who care if it doesn't bother the fish, it's not peaceful to be in that room and to have to listen to it... i don't care about the noise, it's your part of paradise.

  • @aquaticdesignsp

Lol yeah, lot of noisy air pumps in the Amazon.

    -I am being sarcastic

    Nice tank besides the noise,

What would be better is a simple water pump shooting water at the top of the water surface.

u'd increase water to air gas exchange

  • awesome

  • nice tank!!!!

  • Great tank!

  • i really dont know anything about fish, but isn't there too many fish in that tank? or are they okay like that?

  • i plan same for myhouse indoor

  • What did you use to coat and seal the pond? I am in the process of building a cinderblock/cement pond myself. thanks

  • i am sry but if i where u, i would put some stingrays, discus, arowana can stay, a lot of tetras etc in that tank... more plants and its the best tank ever..

  • nice bath tub!!!!!

  • awesome tank mate i wish i had that in my house

  • very pretty love the TSN markings as well.

  • Nice fish!

  • very peaceful

  • Real nice. Beats watching tv any day!

  • beautiful...loud but beautiful

  • nice setup!!!

have any of your aros jumped out yet?

  • In almost two years the only jumping any of them have done has been to reach food on the end of a pole. My honest belief is that because they have plenty of room, are never really scared and they can see whats outside the pond they make the decision to stay in. Thats just my opinion.

  • @aquaticdesignsp Plenty of room...hahahahahaha. This is abuse, plain and simple.

  • are they ever agressive with one another?

  • The largest Aro has become kinda territorial over time but he never really hurts anything. Just some pushing and flexing.

  • yes i have a question i wana keep, 15-30 inch gator or florida gar outside in a pond. what flter and chemicals do you recommend. also i want it freshwater

  • what are you talking about these fish are awesome they dont need anymore space. and good vid when 1 of your arowana's eats a dead bird.!!!

  • have you looked around at other vdos? people hold bigger fish in much smaller tanks. those fish actually have a home, plenty of room to swim, & not trapped in a tank, not cruel at all !

  • If I were to make an Amazon sanctuary it would be a lot bigger with Piranhas.

  • they look very nice on that tank !great job!!!!!!!!!

  • i got 2 questions

what job do you do ?

and how much do you ern ?

  • lets just say I am a rather poor guy, I work for my famlies buisness and times are tough. I'm not sure why you ask. If it's because the pond looks expensive, it wasn't. I built it for $1000 and did all the work my self over a six month window.

  • HHHOOOLLLYYY.................

  • This is what my house is missing. :) I've already got 9 tanks- but a big indoor pond with plants and stonework.... pure magic. I hope all your fish live on for many years.

  • Thank you for your wonderful words!! Same to yours my friend and also to you.

  • :) No problem! :)

  • realy wonderful :-)

  • woooooooooooooow where did u get the money for that lol

  • I gave him the money to implement his dream ;-)

but don't tell any body lol

  • Oh, thanks there for a second I thought it was santy clause!!!!! :)

  • hey u should make a video when u feed them ^^ i want to see one pls make one ^^

  • Check out my other vids. There are a few good ones of them eating.

  • how old are your arowana's? and how much did that tank cost

  • 1,500 gallons! HOLY F***. Dude I am a experienced fish collecter. I have bred dragon gobys even. But DAMN! you just 1 up't the hell outa me bro!

  • Do Not cut yourself short, my god dragon gobies that is no easy feat.

  • coool 1,500 Gallon Indoor Amazonian Fish Sanctuary love it

  • niiiiiccceee

  • yah how much DID it cost????

  • very nice, looks a bit crowded in there?

  • how much did it cost?

  • fucking badd ass

  • nice!!!

  • what type of filtration are u using??

  • Those fish are lovely by the way.

  • incrivel!!!!!

  • very nice and i love since arowana's are just sooooooo amazonian. Just Kidding. Nice vid

  • The Amazon is home to three Arowana species. The Silvers ( like in my pond ), the Black Aro and the Arapiama.

  • I am sorry. The dumb one is me, i thought they all came from asia. Again, i'm sorry.

  • Arowana and Arapiama are 2 diff species-

  • esta bueno el acuerio solo que muy pequeño para tantos peces

  • That is awesome.

  • Make sure you all check out all my updated videos. Alot of your questions are answered there.

  • have the arowanas ever jumped out before?

  • how much did that pond cost????

  • Woah...

I would love to have that

    =D

  • is that a fucking goat screaming in the background... lol

  • My pacus have been well skittish after my silver arowana died

  • holy crap that is amazing i wish i had the money i want to go for a 10' by 4' by 3' with a pearl aro and a red oscar would they fit

  • Difficult to gauge the size of this pond. how big are the arrowanas?

  • The largest male in this video 27" . In my more recent posts you can see they have grown..........lets just say , plans are underway to build another one bigger due to thier growth.

  • I love that aquarium!

  • i hope ur joking about the bettas.......awhile ago my brother had a betta and his dumb ass thought it could take my 7 inch oscar so i he dropped him in and oscar chased him around for like 2 minute and then swallowed him...that shit was fuckin hilarious and the best part was that he actually believed his betta was gonna win...1 oscar...12 dollars ...1 betta...3 dollars...seeing ur brothers face after ur oscar eats his betta .... priceless

  • lol thats a nice story about you and your brother..and yes i was kidding

  • my male betta fish could take on any of your arowanas 1 on 1!!

  • dumbass.

  • man how much did it cost and how much time did it take to make?

  • COOL

  • wow, its so beautiful! congratulations!

PS: my first thought when i heard the baby in the background was, "i wonder if the baby's the fish food" and i got the giggles. i guess its the sense of humor only monster fish keepers have.

  • Thanks for the feed back, but you've made a common mistake. The "crying baby" is my fifteen year old Moluccan Cockatoo.

  • wow thats a great setup you have there... how did u know if the floor in your house could take all that weight? so much water, and the materials used to build it must weigh over a ton... how can you tell if the floorboards and joists can take it? this is a concern i have at the moment when thinkin about upgrading to a 6ft tank... i figure that much water, tank and cabinet must be around half a ton in weight... im guessing floorboards arent designed to take that sort of weight....

  • how much did that cost to get build in your house?

including all the plants and driftwood?

when i grow up, i wish to have something like that in my house.

  • needs a clean

  • HAHA

  • those r some massive ass pocu awesome tank

  • LOVE THIS TANK. WOW 5 STARS!

  • man thats all of dat.nice job G

  • best concept ever... well done! i'd wished for one someday. Cheers!

  • all U need is a red tail cat know

  • I have rescued one large one but the poor guy didn't take to the move and I lost him. Believe you me the Tiger Shovelnose is more than enough catfish for the pond. There are two good sized Acara cats in there as well.

  • Always wanted to have something like that in my house..and keeping saved animals. You are doing something wise man..we need more people like you

  • COOL!!!

  • WAH NICE TANK!

  • wow! 5 stars. i have never seen something like this. this is amazing, and to have it in your house. i love the set up, and the fish look happy.

but since there are arowanas and there is no lid, i had a friend have one jump out of the tank and it knocked the lid over and escaped. why dont yours jump out?

  • That is a common concern. For over a year now they have been in there with no incident. My belief is that Aro's are truely flighty animals spending the majority of thier lives at the waters surface. Thier most effective feeding method is leaving the water to catch prey above. The Amazon is very murky. Now with that in mind, an Aro kept in a tank with spotless water is aware of the world beyond the glass. Being spooked with little options for retreat breaks free the flight response.

  • My adult male is capable of leaping quite high and fast, that strength can move a lid easily and for an animal that can adjust its leaps to catch flying prey can easily calculate jumping out of any uncovered gap. Also thier metabolizm is relentless and I've even seen them trying to attack/get to food containers they recognize sitting on shelves close to the tank.

  • My point is that the Aro's jumping to thier deaths are products of the situation. My Aro's know me so well I spend alot of time with them in the water so they are very comfortable with me. But my number one reason for them not jumping out is that I feed them to much and they are to fat!!! No, seriously it's because they have been roaming this planets waters longer than we have been a species and they can't achieve a feat like that being stupid. Sorry for rambling.

  • Wow! This is really a magnificent clip! Very nice indeed! All different types of fish - co habiting together. Must be tough cleaning the pond.

  • great job on the set up, i've always wanted an arowana

  • you should get one they aren't as hard to take care of as everyone says.

  • But remember they get quite large so think about that. PLEASE!!!

  • Very good job. The best amazon mimic I've ever seen. I just think fish like Arowana shouldn't be kept in aquariums that a semi-truck can't fit in.

They will get bored. If I could have the same tank with piranha's or something pretty big I would be happy.

  • Nice work, i have a dream myself and it's to build a huge pond like yours, that day i'll be happy with my life.

    What other animals you keep???

  • OK, I thought my 150 was a big sized tank. If you don't mind me asking; what is it that you do for a living. Because short of you building it on your own, that must have cost you upward of 8,000.00 to 10,000.00 for everything. Man my wife would cut off my boys if i did that.. (might be worth it though, not a huge fan of kids)

  • I am quite the broke man honestly. I don't make much money at all but I have dedicated myself to my animals and always find a way. I built this pond in my home for a materials cost of one thousand dollars and a man hour cost of me over a six month period. When you see the eyes of an Aro rescued from some small tank when it gets to the pond, any amount of money or time is worth it.

  • that is awesome!!! i wish i had one of those

  • honestly want to see your house set up, thats awesome!

  • Wow! Sick!

How much did that cost!? :0

  • how do u clean that tank:(

  • There are two 1500 gph pumps that move water threw two different spray bars. One up top and one at the bottom, to keep the detritis from settling. A single FX5 canister filter removes the waste and pushes the clean water threw a turbo twist uv sterilizer. That and a half water change about once a week or so.

  • :0 seems like a lot of work

  • wow, that is a sick set up

  • was this room a spare bathroom?

  • Spare bedroom, actually. It's a three bedroom house, and one of the bedrooms houses this pond, and the other is floor-to-ceiling tanks, plus a snake enclosure... The third is still a bedroom. We figured we should probably keep one a functional place to sleep, haha. (Although it does have a 125 and a 150, plus a snake cage...)

  • omg that is incredible you must love fish as much as i do!

  • I would love to have that in my house. Awesome.

  • That is amazing. Very nice setup.

  • really nice silver arowanas and flowerhorn and red belly pacus.. realy awsome...i got a 5 inch silver arowana and 3 3inch red belly pacu so far in my 100 gallon tank with a 8 inch common pleco.. havnt updated any vid yet until they get bigger.. planning to add more deco and more fish probably.. well NICE vid

  • That is fucking insanely crazy aweesome.

  • now that is the bee's mate awesome tank!

  • the first thing that enters my head isn't "why is there no lid waah waah waah" its fucking amazing! i will have arowanas one day, great tank/pond. (whats that humming noise cause that would drive me mad LOL)

  • Look again mate.

  • Looks cramped mate.

  • no lid but lots of water..how about in ur living room? heheheh..whats the size of your arows?

  • THAT IS BADASS!!!!

  • Their is no lid on the amazon, but then they jump up and land back in. I worked at an aquarium and they were fine for months until one night somethin must of shocked them because 3 of them went carpet surfing

  • Just what the doctor orderd

  • don't you know arowanas love to fly?lmao

  • That is the most common question I have fielded about the pond. Why aren't I scared that they will jump? I have explained it a thousand times but here we go... An Aro in a aquaria will eventually, due to fear or curiosity, probably jump from their tank. An Aro in enough space that is very well fed and given the chance to hunt in a natural manner has no such need. I will answer your question with another. Is there a lid on the Amazon?

  • WOW, just WOW!

  • whats the cool looking one with the brown and black pattern? it looks like my snake =)

  • Achara Catfish

  • looks perfect

  • Great job dude! You are now my idol when it comes to fish keeping... :-) You completely matched their home in the amazon with your set-up... They are one of the happiest fishes in the whole world... Kudos to people like you... :-)

  • Thank you so much !!! If I may though the point is not to glote or show off but rather to show the world what it really takes to attempt to properly house these guys. Maybe just one person with a 55 will learn from it and not go buy a doomed aro from their LFS. But it is nice to have such positive energy about a project/passion. Thank you again.

  • Isn't that a bit dangerous? Looks like the Arowanas could easily jump out of there. Nice tank though.

  • I have gotten the same concern from others. I have spent the last five years (since getting my first silver, which was 6 inches then now he is the biggest) studying Silver behavior both captive and thier wild habits. I have a firm belief that this concern of "flighty" Aros, comes from the experiences of tanked silvers. These fish have made arial behavior a staple of their hunting for thousands of years.

  • When kept in a tank their whole lives and kept from that staple behavior, flight response or instict causes the unfortunate Aro on the floor. Mine are fed embracing that most basic response. The pond is not perfect but much better simulates their home range. After all these years I have kept my Aros from the "look down" syndrome and they all stay nice and wet in their home away from home.

  • man how much did it cost i want to do the same thing that is hella tight

  • That does look anywhere near 1500. looks just like a 750

  • why dont the arows jump

  • 1.500 gal.....are u shore?

  • Positive.

  • from the looks of it, it does look like a 1,500 gallon =] it could be the angle your video taping the tank which throws everyone off making them think otherwise

  • what kind of fish r in there?

  • 3x Silver Arowana, 1x Tiger Shovelnose Catfish, 1x Trimac, 1x Midas/Red Devil, 2x Pacu, And I think a Red Bellied Piranha if still alive

  • doesnt look like that many aros and i think theres a flower horn

  • well if you look closely you can see 3 silver arowanas...(o_0) and you can see a trimac not a flowerhorn...the trimac is what is used to breed it with some other cichlid to make a flowerhorn

  • Actually, it's 4 Silvers, 1 Tiger Shovelnose, 1 Achara Catfish, 1 Jaguar Cat (unknown sp.), 1 Trimac, 1 Midas, 5 of their Flowerhorn offspring, a Longnose Gar, a Managuense cichlid, 2 Red-Belly Pacu, 1 Red Bellied Piranha, and a HUGE pleco. There are a lot of hiding places for the cichlids around the edge with room in the middle for the big guys to move.

It is actually just barely over 1,500 gallons. It's very hard to get all of it into the view of the camera with the dimensions of the room.

  • Love you guys...Keep doing what you do because your the best at it that I know and am glad and thankful that I have the pleasure of calling you not only my friends but my family and Thankyou for allowing me to experience all that you do and have with my own own hands and eyes...Not many can experience what you have...

  • dang thats tight

who did this for you and how much was it cause thats nice

  • I did it all myself, which DRASTICALLY reduced the cost...

  • hello can u or any one tell me how to put the vewing glass in..what type glas opxy or ne other thing i need..can someone help me thanks dj deuce

  • did u put a arowana inside ?
