  • Hey Guys can anyone help me out with a problem im havin with my Mpc 500. The story is That iv made a few simple 4bar sequences with some samples i chopped up with the memory card that comes with...the only problem is when i save the sequences back onto the memory card and try to play them on my computer its a unknown format..! Im situated in Ireland so I'm Finding it hard to find a Usb that will fit in to my Mpc...! Any Help would be Greatly appreciated...! Reply...! Thanks.!=]

  • do make your beat a wav file, one way to export it the beat is to make it a song from a swequence, then record out, using main out, after you record it that way save it as a sample. it will be a wav file. hope that helps

  • thanks man yeah thats wat im settin out to do :D:D turns out my usb isnt connectin my mpc to my computer!=[ ah well lol

  • ::: Very Nice :::

  • very good beat! Underground, strong style, a word of congrats for that masterpiece. May I ask you where did you get that snare?

  • Very nice! Keep'em coming.

  • yeah real low key gem. like it. give us a good straightforward section to just listen to for its own sake and also to write to.

    peace.

  • ACE beat... very cool. Nice western, RZA-style punchy beat. Really really nice, great sample choice, excellent melodies also.

  • What were your purchase decisions for getting the 2500 instead of the 500?

    Thanks

  • oh, also are you analog or digital from turntable into MPC?

  • HeHe...and...Are you going analog out to a DAW or spdif into sound card/DAW? 2 tracks at a time out or the max with the 2500? Have you tried editing on the PC and dropping sounds into the MPC via USB yet?

  • "

I ask because if I have 2 bar sequences and then want a synth pad over 8 bars you can't do that in song mode."

same question here did u makeing a couple of short patterns and sequence it? or makeing 2 x 8bar loops and thats it?

nice beats. u got your own style. i like that u using couple of different samples in one beat. peace!

  • So you're not doing a couple of bars then looping and organizing sequences in song mode? You're doing longer sequences and stringing them together or just making one sequence?

I ask because if I have 2 bar sequences and then want a synth pad over 8 bars you can't do that in song mode.

Best beat on youtube btw imo!

  • You usin records or precut samples?

  • nothin but records.

  • thats sick homie

check out my beats when u get a chance

  • yo man u got sum flow,

keep doin what u doin n thanks for msgin me back,

am thinkin to get the mpc 2500 n a project mix n a fantom i think,

    :)

  • damn this shit is tight man keep doing your thing

  • seen all five vids now and this is my favourite on still!!! u got some mad creative talent fam!!! you when you tune your samples, do you autochromatize your samples or just tune the samples in the global program edit??

    keep doin you fam!

    1 luv

  • I just tune them in program mode. I haven't even fucked with pitch shift or time stretch or none of that.

  • jeeeze man, your killing it still!!!

When u tune certain samples from others do you go up/down in whole '1s' or '.05s' etc

  • I'll tune the number to the left of the decimal just to get in the general area of the correct pitch, then i'll tweak the 100th's to the right of the decimal to get it perfect.

  • cool man, you got a real ear for music. heard the final version of this riddim on your myspace 'luluby' sound ill fam!

    bless

  • musically the more creative of mpc videos on youtube. it's a relief actually, hearing creative shite amongst the million boring mpc hip hop vids. nice work man

  • Check this out: I'm not even all that into Hip Hop - most of the mainstream tracks leave me cold. I was just scouting MPC videos to see what the machine can do. But I've watched all 5 of your vids and I gotta say, your beats are SERIOUSLY creative and musical. Great work, man. Find yourself the right lyricist and you're gonna blow up.

  • dis shits hot...kinda reminds me of them psycho realm/cypress hill muzik..keep it up bro

  • holy fuck the samples are sick and the way u pieced it together. perfect. sickest shit ive heard in a minute. one of my favs! big ups and stay up.

  • can u make a video showing how u use recycle to chop ur samples bcuz i have reason and i am thinking about getting recycling

  • Its kinda amazing to see how you make em come together..! Everytime you hit those damn pads im stunned, almost in awe ;>, cuz browa' you can laze 'em tracks, thats for sure..!

  • Just copped my 2500

    today. Cant wait for it

to come. Vid is tight dude.

  • dope as hell!!!

  • shits dope

  • Im feelin this one man, nice job. I'm just learning how to sample, and looking for advice... here are u just cutting up songs like that guitar; i really like the sound of that guitar just wanna know where to look for sounds like that.

  • Thanks, every instrument I use is from a different sample chopped up and rearranged. The guitar is from a Charlie Byrd record.

  • Tight as always... where do you get those crazy drum samples man (the ones on beat 4 are sick too)?!? Also, are you ripping those other samples off commercial vinyls? I've always been afraid to but I guess it doesn't matter if you don't make money on the beat.

  • I get all my drums and samples off commercial records. I don't use sample libraries. Occasionally I'll sample from a compilation CD to find rare 60's 70's stuff from overseas. I don't know if I'll need to worry about sample clearing. I chop and blend so many samples together, the end result bares little resemblence to the tracks I sample from. If it came down to it, I could probably claim the "fair use" doctrine. Ultimately though I won't know 'til I cross that bridge.

  • Cool... definitely inspiring. I've been all digital using a midi keyboard for a while now but I'm thinking about checkin out an mpd32 (still digital but a little more involved).

    Keep doin what you do.

    ONE

  • nice feel 2 it

  • nice one...
