I watched this from beginning to end on YouTube not long ago. I think "Eric" should have it's place on DVD. The VHS copies are rare to find, and Lifetime or any other channel like Lifetime isn't airing this classic TV Drama movie from 1975. Don't know who has the copyrights to "Eric," but I ask that someday this comes to DVD.
Awww mark just broke his nose on his accident guys. He didnt even need plastic surgery. The whole thing was blown out of proportion because some problems with contract for a tv show. Which he didnt wana do in the first place. He told so himself!!! I met him a few months ago and as 60 year old men go he still is pretty charming!!!! Gorgeous eyes!!!!
seeing this.. it breaks my heart imagining what happened real life.. i swear, if i could exchange my life for Erics, i would.. because i know he would've achieved a whole lot more than i could right now or even years from now..
I read about his bibliography where it was written by his mom... and it's a beautiful story about the love of a mother to her dying son. I wanna watch this movie, can anyone tell me where I can grab a copy of it? thnx all!!! :D
@jeystonemusic after Star wars ep 4 he got into a major car crash, he had to have facial surgery. from what I have heard. so that didnt help his "aging" but I think he looks great.
I am going to try this a third time. My earlier posts on this page wouldn't go through for some reason.
I agree with ssudioTVgirl and kpskate1. Always amazed me why Hamill's onscreen career wasn't stronger than it was, but maybe it was due to him being away for too long from Hollywood in the 1980s. And he also had this perky, boy-next-door persona that tended to overshadow his real abilities.
He is such a great actor! I am so sorry that directors could not forget about his Luke and give him many many great parts! The world has lost so much with him not being cast on the greatest movies! He is a better actor than Harrison Ford although I love him too.
@ssudioTVgirl precisely because he's not all that good looking nor is he a great actor. he was more of a child star, and most of them go belly up after their original fame fades away
(Nods) And he deserves honourable mention for that. After listening to his voiceovers as the Joker, Hobgoblin, Red Skull and Fire Lord Ozai -- to name but a few -- I have to say that he's well on his way to becoming the next Mel Blanc or Clarence "Ducky" Nash.
@xXFourthSurvivorXx Oh? I'm pretty sure, last time I checked, that he is one of the most demanded voice actors in animation today. Get on imdb.com sometime and just take a look at all the things he's done and continues to do. I respect opinions, but when you just say "you're wrong" it's kind of hard to take you seriously in an argument. Just saying.
@Damian8048Auditions you seem to have confused "most demanded" with best. yeah, he's a good voice actor, but just because angelina jolie is the most demanded actress in hollywood doesnt mean shes the best....far from it. mark's hammill's acting career was destroyed after star wars, voice acting is something different altogether. hamill generally does the same evil-sounding voice for all villains. not the best. so it's kinda hard to take your comment seriously. just saying.
@xXFourthSurvivorXx Heh, I find it hilarious how hard you're fighting to show me how wrong my opinion is. But you want to know something, friend? Your career usually isn't destroyed if you're still making a small fortune every year from it. But, I'm tired of this discussion. I think I'm going to go watch another cartoon. Doesn't matter which one, though, cause he sounds exactly the same in them, right? That's why they sell so good, anyway. Have a good one ;)
@Damian8048Auditions wtf you find it hilarious how hard im fighting? dude you wrote a friggin paragraph to me, i responded with a paragraph...now tell me how exactly do you think you're anything better than me because of it? lol i find it hilarious that when backed into a corner and presented with real evidence, people like you disregard that and instead try to shift the focus of the debate onto something else. it's pathetic, really. lol
@ssudioTVgirl I thought he had a few decent roles (Village of the Damned, Corvette Summer, Slipstream, The Big Red One) but he also had a few roles that while decent weren't a stretch from Star Wars (Time Runner & Wing Commander videogames where he actually acts/is seen in).
He would also play psycho roles as well (Reeseville, Body Bags, Midnight Ride) and those all sucked despite his scene-stealing roles.
I do agree that he should do non-SW spoofs & he has retired from the Joker recently.
He had some good roles. He dubbed cartoon's characters like the Joker in Batman Animated Series (1992), he payed in this film, he has made theatre, he played Luke and himself in the Muppet Show where he was dancing, he played a lot in television and has done a lot of dramatic films. I think he also played a serial killer in a serial killer movie.Unfortunately, it's really hard to find all of this but it's still known.

Good acting! John Savage has always been really good and underrated, but I never thought Mark Hamill could pull this off.

I don't understand what people mean when they say Star Wars ruined Mark's career. If anything it made it better.
Awesome acting in this. I sometimes wonder how actors get themselves to cry about something that isn't even real.
