"Weekend" was composed by Comets Franny Beecher, Rudy Pompilli, and Billy Williamson. The record was originally released on the East West label in New York, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. The record reached no. 35 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the U.S. in 1958. The B side was "Better Believe It". The Kingsmen released a follow-up single entitled "The Catwalk".
Liz, very cool record. I've had this one on 45rpm for many years and had all but forgotten it. Mitten the cat also agrees this is a great one. Thanks for sharing!
