the beta came out 4 months before the actual retail release of Halo 3. It lasted from May 16th - June 10th. The maps you could try out were High Ground, Valhalla, and Snowbound. They are pretty much the same as the retail maps except for weapon spawn locations are different and the beta seemed much more better than the actual retail, but I love both. Anyone remember the bug that caused the trip mine to be sticky! lol XD i miss the beta...

the custom game menu was 1^6 (times) better than the menu now...

all the menus were better in the beta...

the game was perfectly balanced and very polished in the beta...

the AR wasnt overpowering to the ... 90% of the other weapons

the beta was perfect...

the game now (TU2) is completely fucked up... hopefully they fix it with teh mythic pack... otherwise im staying with gears2 like ive been since the TU2
