  • @anotherdumbcomment is the world much better...

  • @Jaygamer345 Course the world is much better. What we gotta compare today with is not what it was like then but what it would've been had they lost. We'd all be speaking German, if our noses were too long we'd be killed and we wouldn't have a choice in anything we did. Frankly, I'm glad they survived D-Day.

  • @Jaygamer345 No D-Day would have meant the Germans could have fought more effectively against Russia, thus losing on the Eastern front inevitably causing us to loose the war. Your point is correct however, with all this pathetic conflict in the east that has been going on since the Roman's were out there.

  • @SpareMomentStudios There's no way of knowing if we'd have lost the war without D-Day or not. If SHAEF had spent more time planning back in 41/42, maybe instead of the failed Dieppe raids we'd have had a war finishing that much earlier. Besides, how much longer could Spain and Switzerland stay neutral?

  • @TootsiesClaw If the Americans and Brits had not of fought in the war Russia would have lost without a doubt. Stalin himself was quoted to having said that the Eastern Front was eased when D-Day Happened, because that led to the battle of the bulge where Hitler used the last of his best tanks and ran out of fuel. Switzerland wouldn't have mattered because the Nazi's would probably just have crushed them, and Spain were very behind in tank and troop production at the time.

  • @SpareMomentStudios But you never know. Hitler might have tried a similar raid on Britain and failed. The Chindits may have beaten back the Nazis from behind. Italy may have had a chance of heart. Scandinavia (Sweden and Iceland) may have fought, South America may have fought... The possibilites are endless. Hitler might even have had an accident and fallen into the sea, off the White Cliffs of Dover (which are actually grey). Who knows?

  • @HalfBrickStudios2010 True, or you could say that HItler never may have invaded the Soviet Union, so they'd have stayed Neutral. Rommel might have succeeded in crushing Britain held india. Japan might have defeated America. Like you said, Anything was possible.

  • @SpareMomentStudios But before Hitler invaded them, the Soviet Union was an axis force. Besides, if we hadn't been so harsh on them back in Versailles, maybe WWII would never have happened. Or if Germany had turned Communist instead of Fascist in 1933.

  • @SpareMomentStudios But there would have been numbers. There are only so many bullets. If the Nazis had to kill all of the Swiss and Spanish as well, they'd have had an ammo shortage. There would have been several more fronts, meaning the Axis would have been spread thin and enclaved. You never know.

  • 67 years today, these men fought and many of them died. RIP all of you.

  • @Jaygamer345 Not true. This was part of the reason we won the war. I agree it was a waste though.

  • they gave their lives for nothing......

  • The music you hear is Mad World, sung by Gary Jules, if you didn't know. For some reason it didn't appear beneath the video and I thought the video inappropriate for credits. Also, sorry the end is bizarre. I ran out of clips1

  • those died as true heroes
