It's now sold with seven instead of XP, which is a very slow OS on a small configuration like a netbook. Get ride of windows and install xubuntu, it will be as fast as hell.

It comes with a 1 year trial of microsoft Office, which does have word and excel.

However, after a year you would need to buy the office or use a license you already own in order to use it.
