The problem with the projections of a surplus in 2017 is that they assume a rosy economy for them to occur. The deficits that will occur until then will prevent the rosy economy, which will prevent the future surpluses.

Currently there isn't enough wealth, both private and public, in the US to pay off the debt. The private bankers have fleeced this country dry.

Since LBJ's Great Society scam, the Feds have increased their influence dramatically. Too many government alphabet soup agencies that hinder our prosperity for their own ill-gotten gains. not only is what the federal govt does unconstitutional--wealth distribution? no--it's immoral. the level of intrusion and taxation that is not only dealt with in this country but accepted as a given, is staggering. then to hear leftist denouncing BIG OIL or the insurance companies and their 2.5% profits. no company can collapse this economy even it they wished to. only the govt can bring this nation to its knees and that damn sure looks to be what they are doing.

without a sense of history i'm afraid most americans view the world as a sitcom. fun, sometimes hard, but anything can be settled before dinner and of course the world doesn't run like that. much of the world is looking for a drink of water and we think we are ENTITLED TO health INSURANCE!
