I have, actually. The rhetoric is toned down compared to the OT, but there's still some pretty stern warnings about wheat and chaff and flames etc, and I seem to remember a couple being struck dead for lying about how much money they were giving the church. The god of the OT was pretty psycho but at least back then there was no hell. It wasn't until New Covenant that little gem was invented.
And I meant to say Robertson, I keep getting him mixed up with James Dobson for some reason.
