  • the F-16 was acting as a chase plane

  • F-16 its to slow... the raptor destroy that bird.

  • F-16 is better looking

  • @HEDFIRE

    Agreed

  • @HEDFIRE haha wtf ya I liked it better than F15

  • It's Lockheed Martin/ Boeing.

  • If anyone thinks an f 16 can even compete with a f22 in a climb of any kind needs to pull their head out if their asses.

  • @trav1971

    no thank you sir

  • I have a feeling F-16 loses, big time

  • EPIC FIGHTER PLANE!!

  • ki legal

  • @AmFearLiathMor ok your right i'll give ya that, but its suppose to get up quick and fast! VSTOL! thanks to the Brits for letting us have the design

  • @AmFearLiathMor The Harriers pretty slow man

  • F-18 FTW

  • I thought the Lightning accelerated whilst climbing....

  • No contest. I think F-22 costs 10x of F-16. I bet 10 F-16's will beat 1 Raptor. haha

  • @AccordGTR well yeah the F-22 doesn't carry 10 Air to Air Weapons at once lol

  • nothing can touch the f 22 obamas dumbass stoped makeing them... god job

  • ye ye, but f-16 is still in production, f-22... not.

  • @JackPLflashpoint Both aircraft are still in production...

  • @P3SuperBee Wrong.

  • The F16 could still take off like the F22. It depends on the pilot. I don't think that there is any manuever that the F22 does that the F16 can't do.

  • @KidoSire not likely, the F-22's thrusters can move to assist it......not to mention we're not seeing the true skill..thats classified and practiced on secret air ranges

  • F16 is cheaper and better. It remains a very dangerous fighter and one of the world's top and best ones.

  • wow your stupid there not versing

  • Don't bother arguing with the f15 fanboi... though I can't believe someone thinks a cold war fighter could shake a stick at a modern one... you think the airforce is going to spend billions on something that's not better than what they already have?

  • VS??? The F16 was only there for taking camera shots and info on the F22

  • It was to show you how fast the f-22 could pull straight up into the vertical before the f-16.

  • We don't even have a f16 named aggressor. Your data on the f22 kill is not factual or it is incorrect.

  • At Red Flag the F-16's are named F-16 agressor. Nonetheless they keep being a F-16 Fighting Falcon.

  • I think what he is refering to is the F16 being part of the aggressor squadron in the red flag operations. their the ones who get to be the bad guys and pretend their russians.

  • The first a/c to score a kill on an F-22 was an aggressor F-16 in Alaska late last year.

  • After it was allowed to return to the battlefield after being "killed".

  • Yeah? I didn't know that but I am not suprised.

  • No, the F-35 is a Lockheed-Martin but the F-22 is a Lockheed/Boeing

  • ur both right its lockheed & boeing...and whats the pile of shit antiscreen??

  • thats one big pile of shit

  • wow i like the way of the f-22 take off

  • yeah it lockhead martin not boeing!

  • is't lockhead martin?..

  • ehhhhhhhh cooooooool!

  • The F-22 Looks fat :P jk haha

  • Was this a testing launch, its common for F-16s and other planes to fly alongside during testing. Was this at Edwards AFB?

  • Im pretty sure this is a testing launch to see the capability of the F22. Im not sure if its a common thing to do, and it maybe at Edwards AFB

  • thank you

  • Yes it is Edwards. But the f-22 can outclimb both the f-16 and f-15, even though the f-15 has a higher thrust to weight ratio.

  • in correct my freind the F-15 remains to this day the worlds only fighter in Aviation history to have the capability to Accelerate while in virticle climb while the F-22 has great power, it aint the P & W's that the 15 holds. take it from a person who has seen em both fly on a consistant basis, F-15 still has the best short take-off and power ability in te world.

  • I've seen them both take off too. The F-15 had a higher thrust 2 weight, but the F-22 outclims it because of thrust vectoring.

  • Im not stating opinion here its fact the 15 is is the only Aircraft in the world that can accelerate during verticle climb. the 22 cant do that it can maintain speed at climb, but not accelerate.

  • No, the f-22 outclimbs it because of sheer thrust. Vectoring does NOTHING for power, it's a maneuverability thing. The f-15's engines are 25,000 lbs each with afterburner. The f-22's are 35,000 each. Now they both have two engines, so that's 70,000 to the eagle's 50,000. That's nearly an extra engine of thrust, and their operational weights are nearly the same. So who's going faster?

  • The F-15 was the first fighter that could accelerate while climbing, but it is not the only fighter that can do so.

  • Wrong. The F-15 is just the FIRST US operational fighter to achieve this, not the ONLY one. All it takes is a positive thrust to weight ratio. I've seen the f-15 and 16 both do this, although the 15 was much more impressive. The F-22's T2W is 1.4, to 1 while the f-15's is 1.04 to 1and the f-16's is nearly 2 to 1. So BOTH the f-16 and f-22 could climb faster and accelerate faster than the f-15. And to correct you again, the f-22 does in fact have P&W engines.

  • the f-15 does not have a higher ratio. f-15 is 1.04 to 1 and f-22 is 1.4 to 1.

  • @Paul121193 Yes, this is definitely at Edwards. I have seen those runways many times. The F-16 is tagging alongside to take pictures and to make sure that nothing breaks off or fails to deploy (such as the landing gear). IT IS CALLED A "CHASE PLANE." It is not racing the F-22 or anything. It is there to make sure that everything functions normally on the F-22. Change the title.

  • F22 won the race! wooo!!
