Majesty was an old theatre's name that Portnoy's Dad used to go often, so he suggested to Mike that he named his band with it, but another band was already using that name, so they changed the name to a "Dream" Theatre. Another cool thing is that the Dream Theater logo are the letters M, A, Y, resembling to Majesty.
