One need only to pull out a World map and look at all the areas being contested today, to see that wars are being created to covet fossil fuels. Venezuela is not as far as the Middle East for the US, besides I expect that Russia will begin training Venezuelan military personnel considering that the US is training the Georgian Military for Afghanistan and a quick entry into NATO. One hopes that the countries loaning the US money will stop so that America can no longer buy mercenaries or fund war.
