The iPhone is not ACTUALLY a phone, but a microcomputer, which happens to have a cellular phone embedded in it. It came out in 2007. The major versions are the iPhone, iPhone 3, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4. There is similar device without the phone feature called iPod Touch.

Next time you're in Walmart, check it out! Even they carry them. Surprised you didn't know!

i have tried to synch audio to video within imovie, its not easy,,, thumbs up,, it is much easier to synch it up in other editing software, but imovie does not have such a feature

hey when u recorded the video were u lip synching to the song playing from the phone? or from a lil cd player or somethin? and if so were u able to play the song from the iphone to lip synch to while shootin video at the same time?

@elementsk8er506 I was lip synching to a track that was playing on a different iPhone. John synched up the video to the track I was lip syncing too in post, when he was editing on the iPhone.

@Jvon206 I had a small gorilla grip tripod that I used to mount the iPhone on. It cost about $20 from Amazon. We also did some handheld shots but since it's such a small form factor, you can see every jitter. Good luck!

@Randysinger I mouthed the words along to a track playing on an iPhone 3GS and an external speaker. JohnKGarcia matched up the clips and the music in iMovie for the iPhone. It was mostly trial and error and a lot of patience on Johnʻs part.

Quick tech question - did you desaturate the reds or is that native to the iPhone processing? (iMovie is limited already and rom what the article said about the app being a work in progress I'm guess it's the latter but I just thought I'd check.)

@zanzaboonda Thanks! Thatʻs just the way the iPhone 4 spat the file out. You can't adjust saturation in iMovie for the iPhone.

incredible......I will post this on my facebook page if you want.......but.......are u sure you only shot this with the iphone and edited it with the iphone? How did u do the fades? plus to get the clips edited, you have to add them together since there is no way to splice or cut a video clip on the iphone............

@Randysinger Hi Randy. The fade in/out to black between “scenes" were done by taking a still picture on the iPhone 4 while covering the hole to have a black image. The video clips cross dissolve to the image to create a dip to black effect. Same can be done with white. The clip editing was done with a lot of pinching on pulling by JohnKGarcia.

Wayyyy tooo many fades. I know it's for effect, but the music video is nowhere near personal and the only thing creative is the dolly shot, there's no rack focuses either. Iphone's auto focus good and imovie is good. Take advantage of it. Good shots, but the iphone is a legit camera and we already know that. This does show some of the camera capabilities, but nothing else. Sorry for being, such a hater, just trying to give some advice.
