People forget that Ulster has 9 counties not 6, three of which are in the Republic. Therefore Ulster is not a country, only Northern Ireland is. At least the guy in the vid admits that it only remained part the UK because it region was flooded with Scottish immigrants who eventually out numbered the native Irish.
@fightingirishmanDBLN you really are thick, first off most people in the north dont want a united ireland and secondly the south, with its economy in the shitter could pick up the slack. So, feel free to spout off about an Ireland for the Irish but keep in mind you will never see it!
At newaccountffs it depends what happens northern Ireland does it become independant or Irish? If Irish no if independant yes but just for a few decades there'd probaly supply us with equipment etc and then we would even do the same thing as the isle of man and ask the English to protest us or Scotland. I think
I've got a question for ya, if anyone can kindly answer me.. if the union were to dissolve, as we know Scotland would only have security forces and obviously England would keep it's capability forces.. would English bases remain in Northern Ireland? My fathers from Northern Ireland and despises the idea of the Union dissolving.
I don't like the ulster nationalist flag while ugly in my opionion. If it was me I'd do a at paddys cross with a red hand but if that doesn't appease nationalist u cud sow the ref hand playing a harp or holding a shamrock
@tightheadprod You might like the version that is white with a red St Patrick's cross, white star in the middle and the red hand inside the white star. It combines both traditions.
@ ulsterconfederate I also call northern Ireland ulster and I fink ulster would be a far better name for it but simply because northern Ireland quite long and a unappealing word to me. But the simple fact is that northern Ireland has 6 counties and ulster 9
@tightheadprod. The Province of Ulster as was pre partition had 9 counties. After partition when the majority of Ulster became known as Northern Ireland it was still known as Ulster. This should have been the proper name of the country - indeed the men who agreed the name of Northern Ireland rued this decision in later years and admitted the biggest mistake they ever made was leaving the word 'Ireland' in the name of our wee country. To me; Ulster it is and Ulster it always will be.
Look I'm Protestant but this guy is a retard I like a independant northern Ireland or maybe even ulster a wee bit like but the 6 pointed star to represent the 6 counties of ulster. Ulster has 9 counties not six u idiot northern Ireland has 6. I cnt believe the ejit running this doesn't know his geography
banks are the true rulers, then the EU,then Interests of England n Scotland and then the Irish(Republic) whats left in but mere control over silly matters like when should we run a parade n what colour should our flag be.while money supply, interest rates, jobs n laws will always be made from outside ulster.paint your streets whatever colour you want,it's all you can really ever control.
get real people...the EU rules all of Europe via laws n interest rates.
you have a choice, be in the uk or republic of ireland, but you could not stay afloat on your own.
6,000,000,000 of English, welsh and Scottish taxes each year goes to N.I...hence why us educated Irish want nothing to do with you, well except sell you stuff and owned you trough business!next time you see a new building going in belfast..just think,an irish man owns it,while a un-educated nordy pays the rent hahaha
Im a Irish Nationalist but ive giving the Ulster Nationalism a think for quite a while but i dont think its for me it sounds to Orange for my liking, and until you have both communities up against it and not just prods as a Last ditch against my irishness then theres no fucking chance id support it, and no Catholic would ever support it because where Irish not british [or what the hell you would call your self]
a bunch of Prods singing the Sash and God Save the Queen aint gonna change that
Is this an official flag? It seems to be a bit different from the one my GrandDad had. He marched in the Orangeman's Day parade until the year of his death.
ConCon: Please excuse my ignorance here on the terms Ulster & Ulster Nationalist. Could you define what that is for an American born UK mutt of Scot/Irish/English bloodlines? Take care & God bless.
ConCon: thank you for your clarification. I feel ashamed to admit my complete ignorance of the Scot/Irish & English histories as they regard to one another. I intend to investigate and study for my own interests and education. Thank you.
I think the general idea of ulster nationalism is a very good idea but it is still perceived as protestant, as soon as it looks like it is truly representing both sides it will take off like a fecking rocket! this could be the answer but you need to dump all connections to any old ideas, I know the red hand is not necessarily a protestant symbol but drop all that shit,, I think the Irish tricolor has it nailed green & orange maybe blue and green.
Except the tricolor might as well not have any orange on it, as it is such a republican nationalist symbol now that most unionists/loyalists would not accept it. Th red hand has been used a s a protestant symbol, but it is the symbol of Ulster, regardless of faith, even the Republicans say so.

Native Americans have traditionally supported Irish/Scottish rights. For we are united by our common journey. Just like my ancestor Tecumseh founding the first Confederacy in America.
