And the use of labels to categorize music may be neccessary, but it's ineffective when it comes to genres that branch out--like "Rock", or "Electronic". People who try to pin down and define the sub-genres a band belongs to are missing the point.

Considering that Throbbing Gristle were arguably the first Industrial band ever, and they actually founded Industrial Records, I think it could be said that if any are real, it's them.
